it's nice to know that people out there are still playing some of my mods :)
However, I am afraid that I can't support them any longer. Unfortunately, I am far away from oblivion today, and I don't even have a proper installation of the game anymore to reproduce new issues, incompatibilities etc. Even less will I be able to implement new features.
All of my mods (see list further below) haven't been updated for years now, and I've obviously missed multiple important updates to related mods, OBSE etc. So it's very likely that incompatibilities have accumulated to a pile which I cannot address any longer - at least not without giving up other things in my life.
This all means that I'll have to make that long-feared hard and sad step after all.
Creating all of this stuff and supporting an evolving it over years has been a fascinating, thrilling part of my (at least virtual) life, but I just have to move on nowadays.
I am very sorry about this - it took me a long thought to make that decision. :(
I encourage everyone to take the sources from my mods to try to adapt them to more recent developments! I am sure that there are hundreds of gifted modders out there who can do it in an instant or two ;-)
Thanks to everyone who has contributed in any form to this!! Take a look at the long list of credits!
I'll still try to keep in touch here the best I can. Maybe I'll even have my own "nostalgic Oblivion playthrough" from time to time. I'll always be glad about mor "Oblivion talk", but only as a player. I won't be able to be an active modder for TES IV any longer.
1. I am having that xyz problem with running "Ruined Tail's Tale" Be aware that this "mod" here is only my patch for the original mod by Simyaz. It deals only with one very specific bug, so it is absolutely sure that it doesn't cover anything else, especially if other conflicting mods should get updated in the future.
2. I have detected that xyz other bug in "Ruined Tail's Tale" - Can you fix it for me? No. I am sorry, but I can't. I haven't planned to add more fixes, and my means for future support are very limited. Any bug reports and suggestions need to be directed to Simyaz in the first place.
3. I've posted a question here, but you haven't replied for several days! Please send me a PM. Mail notifications on new posts have never really worked reliably for me. So sending a PM is always better! I am not very frequently present here anymore, since the attention for this mod has significantly fallen with the release of Skyrim. But I am still here, generally. Just consider a delay of up to a week as normal.
4. I've managed to get past an issue using console commands, but now I am stuck! Yes, now you are stuck. Indeed. Never use console commands on your own. "Wild guessing" console tweaks without understanding a scripted quest is most likely to break the quest. It makes it impossible for me to help, so I'll simply refuse to do so. Go back to your latest savegame before the "tweaking", then properly reproduce the issue, then send me your report. Apart from that, this topic is most probably "overruled" by topic 1 and/or 2 (see above).
I'm getting a reproducible CTD in the Shadowscale sanctuary after the Shadowseekers set the traps, and having closed the portcullis, then waiting while they're sneaking.
I installed Better Cities version (because I am using Better Cities) but nothing happened. No spells added, no book...
Upd: I used console command from readme and Twilight started traveling towards the Imperial City (others stayed at Cheydinhall). Also, spell still didn't appear. And when we reached the entrance to the fortress in the IC, Twilight just stopped there. When I tried to talk to him, he said that we are still travellig and he'll talk to me when we reach the entrance. I don't know what to do now...
Having the same issue. Used Midas Tractor beam from the midasmagic mod to drag over the other two ShadowSeekers to the entrance but that didn't solve it. Can't finish the story which is a great shame because I was enjoying it thoroughly...
@KazMiller, your comment is 2 years old so probably not relevant to you still but in case anyone else is having this issue, I found a straightforward workaround: Once you arrive at the well at the Waterfront, simply save your game, exit, disable ALL better cities esp you're running and reload. This will prompt Twilight to talk to you. Once he's done so, exit the game again, enable the mods again, and proceed into the headquarters.
About Shadowscale 'Dead Drop' problem in Anvil - quest works when Ruin's combat style is agressive so before taking Dead Drop from trunk, you must talk with Ruin and set his combat style to agressive - passive causes bug!!!
Thanks for your work on this. Quick question for you. Should your Better Cities version of the patch be run in conjunction with the "patch" included in Better Cities v6.0.8a/6.0.9. That ESP is in the primary downloads 30 Ruined Tails Tale folder, called Better Cities - Ruined Tail's Tale.esp, if you're interested in looking at it. Thanks!
Sorry, RavenMind, for my very late reply. As always, I haven't found much time for checking in here regularly.
My answer, at last:
I recommend running both patches together.
Any RTT patch included in BC itself (by Ismelda) should be considered as a completely separate thing, adressing other conflicts than mine. But my patch is still required to handle some conflicts between my mod and BC.
There's still a risk, however, that my patch, or even my whole RTT fix, might have some incompatibilies with current versions of BC by now. I can't even remember for what version of BC I created and tested it originally. And I have absolutely no chance today to get into it.
thank you for making this patch. I didnt download it because I found a mod to make NPCs follow me. But thank you for making this for people who are stuck.
You're welcome, and thanks for the encouragement! I must admit that I won't be able to support this much more in the future, but if my patch should have helped anybody by now, I am happy!
@Ciccigomma: Welcome and congratulations for being the very first person to post to this thread at all! And thanks for the endorsement!
Of course I assume that you are aware that this is not the original mod's page, but only my unofficial patch that covers only some specific issues in RTT. Unfortunately, the dead drop sequence in Anvil is not covered by my patch, because I never had problems with it and so didn't think of dealing with it.
If I find the time, I'll try to have a look into it in the CS. But I cannot promise anything, as I cannot give support myself for the original RTT mod. This should be Simyaz's task, but it seems that he has long abandoned supporting his mod . As mentioned in the original thread over there, I have tried several times to contact him, but never got a response.
I'm stucked at the dead drop sequence in Anvil. To not spoil anything, let's say that when some should happen after the heart bump, nothing happens. I can only crouch, move the camera and hit the Esc button. Any help? maybe with the id quest stage to jump on?

Has anyone else experienced this?

Would love to hear a solution.
