Very dirty mod. Someone who doesn't bother to clean their own mods gives me hesitation about the quality of their work. I took the time to clean the plugins, merge the esps, and check it out -- but in game it wasn't worth even one load order slot. It appears to be a project that was started then lost interest in & abandoned 10 years ago.
@ songlife, I think that you are forgetting that most modders are 'Amateur' (they do not get paid to mod for a living) many create a mod for their own use and and have perhaps a very different view of what's acceptable for their game than you do, many modders don't know how to clean a mod and don't care to... and why should they? after all if I make a mod and it's fine for me then why should I polish it for you... there's no incentive to waste my time when it's fine as it is. OK I know that there are some fastidious folk that will disagree with me, but seriously, I ain't bothered, because it's a game, and it won't ruin my life if something goes wrong, really, it's not the end of the world.
As for the mod, I've used it enjoyed it and endorsed it, and it didn't break my game. Perhaps you can offer mods to the community instead of denigrating the offerings of others.
Why should someone clean their own mod? LOL. You sound like a newbie. Try running a game with a bunch of dirty mods and see how far you get before you ctd every few minutes.
Hey, you're funny. I'm not quite a nube having joined a heap of years ago, I've run dirty mods all my life, in fact from when Morrowind dropped from Bethesda. I'm not saying cleaning is a bad thing if that's what you wish to do... go ahead, knock yourself out, but don't diss the work of others especially when you only take and don't give. If it doesn't suit you then just keep walking.
Hi there. This looks great. What's the status of the mod? - how much is WIP and how much is functional? Should I just avoid Imperial Reserve- WIP and then I'm fine? Thanks
This sounds awesome. I'm all for mods that make the vanilla content more interesting. And Tar73 - don't worry about Better Dungeons. The name is a bit deceiving. It only alters caves - not forts.
Thanks for quick answer AssyMcGee. I have endorsed this mod now
I'm planing to use better dungeons and that make all the vanilla dungeons more varied. So I wonder if it is possible to get the dungeon back in Fort Wariel, or if that will be too much work for a noob like me?
The doors are an annoying little glitch that I can't for the life of me find a fix for. (Except for replacing all the doors on the castles and forts with a different mesh) It seems to be the wooden part of the door doesn't register as a door. I've found the best way to open the doors is to stand back a little bit, or sometimes you have to look directly at the knob or the hinges.
As for Fort Wariel I decided to eliminate the sprawling underground dungeon. In my mind there's already 200 dungeons to explore. 200 dungeons that all look the same. So Fort Wariel is more along the lines of a small bit of ambiance. I wanted the story in the journal, and the atmosphere to be the dungeon.
I personally feel that sometimes you can have a great adventure in your imagination compared to the monotony of dungeon crawling.
Great work. I love the changes to the forts. Its nice to have something to stand out from the ordinary. And the story matched my experience of the locations.
Two problems I found: Many of the doors at different locations is difficult to target as Gamatria already have pointed out. But this is a very small problem if a problem at all. I did not find the original entrance to Fort Wariel. I found a small tower there, but I found no entrance to the dungeon. It can be that I'm blind, but there was not other doors on the local map outside or inside. I don't have any mods installed except UL, I like to test mods in "clean" environment.
One other thing. Is there any quests related to the Abby?
