Quick FAQ.
You are the author of Fake Fullscreen mode Windowed Alt Tab Fix? Yes, and this tool is intended to be the next step, if you want more, use this one.
Is this a loader? No, is a resident program that has a minimum (almost zero) footprint in the system.
But I run the game using X and Y and changing Z it will work for me? 99% Yes!.
*some users can have games/setups unaffected by the mode, ask for help in the comments, I will be recollecting workarounds and making adjustments to the program to reach all users as possible.
You will be adding new features in the future? yes
It can give me Fake Fullscreen mode in almost every existent game? Yes! Just set the game in windowed mode, using the same resolution as the desktop, and use the recommended settings.
Although my game no longer crashes, I still experience microshutering, what can I do? There are several causes of mircoshutering, from drivers to visual mods and tools that hijack direct3d, try to have everything as clean as possible, also try a new driver if possible, reboot the system, etc, try to be methodical searching for the root cause, ask in the comments when you already have some testing information to share, I will make a video about microshutering soon.
Antivirus programs can false detect this as a generic/troyan, Is a false positive, upload the original zip instaler to your antivirus company requesting to be marked as false positive Give also the url to the original place where you download the program They will analyze it and sometimes reply Even if they flag this as false positive in the next update, they will eventually forget and delete the software again without warning, be sure when you are convinced this is a legit software, to add it to the trusted/exclusion list, or set your Antivirus software to ask your permission to delete something. Use at your own risk says it all. This mod is nowhere ready for primetime and is sloppy....alt-tab not working, etc. Waste of verbiage, just get the mod "right" or don't have an upload for the unwary mod shopper at all!
ok It works great, but how do I get the game brightness back up? I seem to be stuck on 50% and the gamma profiles just messes everything up, is there an ini. line I can change somewhere? Heavily modded game with most of it being graphics, but I want the alt tab to not minimize my game! Help please guys :)
I tried this with my game and it made it so that I can't use it with fullscreen. I thought it was my DLC causing it to bug out, but really it was this mod that I had installed and forgotten about years ago. It's handy for other games, but for those who are wondering why your game is CTD when you put fullscreen on, this is most likely the issue.
I am pleasantly surprised that this worked on my first attempt (as my past experiences with generalized programs like this almost never do). Seems stable and very useful!
Thanks for making this.
Only weirdness is how I can't seem to use alt+tab properly once I've already alt+tabbed out of the game, but that's a minor inconvenience at most. EDIT: Oh, I can't properly alt+tab even after I'm done playing, this could be a problem... EDIT2: Restarting explorer.exe did the trick.
Hi BUDA20, I used GameCompanion on Windows 7 and it worked very well for all these games. Sadly, it does not appear to work on Windows 10. Well, it does run, but seems to have no effect at all. Do you have any plans on updating GameCompanion for Windows 10? Thanks!
I'm using it for several years. I've recently started a new Oblivion playthrough on Windows 10 pro with an ultra wide screen (3440*1440) and it is perfectly working.
Good for you; it's not working for me. Earlier (on Windows 7) the game went full screen after a few secs. Nothing happens - as if it's not even trying to fix it. So, again, it runs, but I don't get the borderless fullscreen.
Trash leech mod, really hard to delete and get rid of the shitty Game Companion Gamma profiles, which are constantly bound to LAlt and LShift, two of the most used fucking keys in gaming! CRAP
really easy to unbind those, and i dont even think they are by default...anyways this is extremely useful as you can mod and troubleshoot your game while its open.
Trying to run oblivion in 4k, game alt tabs just fine but the game window itself well lets just say the oblivion title is large not centered and can not even see the options to start game load etc
