I can't find the key to the ayleid ruin. I ended up in a cistern that was locked and the only way out was through an underwater grating that lead back into the waterfront district. Now my house is blocked and that's it - no key and no house. Is something more supposed to happen? Did I somehow miss the key? I know this mod hasn't been active in awhile, but if anyone happens to see this and knows the answer, I'd appreciate a reply.

Edit: NM, I figured it out. Great mod, thank you! It was very fun :) My only criticism is that the ayleid ruin you end up in eventually has a locked door you can't get through from that side and the door that gets you there blocks a door from the Ayleid Steps mod. Not a huge deal, I was able to just TCL through your door to the one behind it, but just letting you know there's a conflict.

NPC's will take any route they can.

To prevent NPC's from travelling through the house, put locks on the doors, or better yet, make the doors owned by the player.

Hei LenSquig and thanks suggesting an adjustment of the doors. I took the occation for dusting and cleaning the whole mod a bit and added another miniquest. Hope You like the new 1.2 version too!
PS: Don't know why Renee Geonette is visiting you but I assume that she is on her way back to the Temple District and got lost. The mod offers another way to the IC from the Waterfront and that could be the reason but I don't know to stop her showing up...

    Fun little Mod!

I liked the underground exploration, clever how the different places were linked together and the underground lake was beautiful.

I found the green wall tapestry blocks the new door too much, making it very hard to find a spot to click on to open it. Same problem with the new rug in the new side room, it covers the trap door making it very hard to find a spot to click on. It would be great if the tapestry could be moved over to the side and rug moved over a bit more.

    I found one odd bug:
Renee Geonette keeps appearing in my IC Shack (the normal above ground room). Sometimes she leaves through the front door, but most of time she stands near the door to the new room.

Handy Note for anyone else trying this mod out:
Be sure to have your Imperial City House Key on you BEFORE you go to sleep to start the quest.

This sounds excellent. After playing Oblivion for about 4 years and owning all of the houses several times, I had a recent low-level character buy the Waterfront house, out of poverty (and being sick of going down near Leyawin to be in the White Stallion Lodge all the time) ... now I'm glad there's actually something interesting to it.
