This mod is for wizards, monks, thieves, and Conan-style fighters, and adds the unarmored skill to Oblivion. Effectively, you get a shield effect based on your acrobatics score. The shield effect increases exponentially with your acrobatics to keep up with game difficulty. Finally, the master perk of acrobatics becomes more useful, as you get a shield 50 effect when acrobatics is 100! (A master light armor has 75 with glass).

To make it balanced, your unarmored ability is penalized by every weight point above half your encumbrance (=2.5 * Strength); especially at the start of the game, this is a challenge and it is recommended to start with a good initial strength. However, when you start the mod, you have the option to turn this penalty off and just carry as much as you want.

Furthermore, using a shield halves the unarmored ability, and wearing a cuirass disables it completely. Unfortunately, I have not been able yet to check for other pieces of armor, and you can `cheat' a little bit by wearing greaves, boots, etc. while still having the unarmored effect. Of course, the 2*Strength weight limit discourages this practice.

Especially in the beginning the shield effect is fairly minor and you might need to wear extra armor until you acrobatics gets high enough. The formula is:

AR = Acrobatics * Acrobatics * unarmoredRating * 0.0001

where unarmoredRating is 45. In effect, this gives:

Skill Unarmored
25 0
30 4
40 7
5011
6016
7022
8029
9036
9944
10050

Note that after unarmored level 10, each increase goes in even numbers (to reduce the number of separate spells needed).

See the readme for full details,
Have fun,
