This is a revision of my first released mod for Oblivion, so I am open to any rational and constructive criticisms from anyone who has tried this mod.

This mod adds the Daedric Katana and Dai-katana to the game. These elegant and powerful weapons can be found on high level (20+) mobs throughout the game (since I didn't want to just hand it over to newbie characters). However, if you cannot wait to get your hands on these weapons, you can find that they are in the display cases adjacent to the Grandmaster's chest upstairs in the Chorrol Fighter's Guild. You can either gain the key by becoming the Grandmaster of the guild, or pick the locks (Very Hard and it's stealing unless you're the Grandmaster). Also, Jauffre carries a Daedric Dai-katana now, so nab it from him if you can (wait until he sleeps).

Due to demands, there are separate ESPs for different levels of availablity

Install:

Simply extract the zip to your Oblivion directory, and click "Yes to all".

Technical:

I made this mod using the TES Construction Set, MS Paint, and the HHD Hex Editor. The texture I created is based off the Akaviri Katana texture and the Daedric Longsword and Claymore textures, then mapped onto the original Akaviri Katana and Dai-Katana meshes, all of which were made by Bethesda Softworks.

Bugs:

This is my third attempt at skinning the Daedric Katanas, and the textures are now significantly sharper and more vivid, and now have an updated normal map to match. However, I still can not get a glowmap to work with this texture (heck, I can't even open the .dds file for them, any tips on this would be appreciated). Finally, chances are if you walk into the Chorrol Fighter's Guild, the first things you will hear are the swords rattling down to the bottom slope of the display cases.I can't get them to stay put for anything!Currently no known conficts, but be wary if you use mods that modify leveled lists.*NOTE* Use the different ESPs if you want to.

Misc:

Finally, if you want to use these weapons in your own mod, feel free.Just give me a bit of credit for them!

Enjoy.

Changelog:

v0.3: New normal map texture matches base texture better now.

v0.2: Texture has been sharpened, spelling errors fixed in readme.

v0.1: Intial Release.
