About this mod

Craftybits is a hands-on crafting mod. Basically, instead of making everything through a series of menus, CraftyBits lets you physically place the items in front of you, and turn them into something else before your eyes.

Permissions and credits
CLShade has unfortunately been eaten by real life for the moment, so it has been bequeathed to me to upload this version of Craftybits.

And so I, Setsuna515/Kyrielle, present unto you, Craftybits Version 0.7!

Update 2/12/2010

Fixed the Canoe at the IC Waterfront not working. Previously, on activation, nothing would happen. The canoe now works like it's supposed to and the map marker that is placed when the canoe is docked has been fixed.

Update 1/9/2010 - Later that day...

A tester just noted strange cell behavior and so have I. (Thank you foxbrian.)

I started up my system and noticed I had erroneously merged one of the fix plugins made by a team member with the master file. The plugin contained fixes for the CB Options menu bugs. Part of the fix was to remove a reference in the CB Guild area, which means the world space was altered. When merged with the master, this caused strange terrain behavior.

I have fixed the issue and that fix was been merged with the appropriate file. From looking on my game, I no longer see vanished Shinebone Cave and Imperial Bridge cells.

Overwrite existing files.

Update 1/9/2010

A hot fix has been uploaded hopefully addressing the following issues:

-Console Message Spam
-CB Options Menu options not working correctly
-Item Repair using the portable forge/anvil no longer crashes

OVERWRITE any existing files.

I've tested all of these myself and have not run into any issues.

IMPORTANT: This mod is still a Beta. By downloading this, you are agreeing to act as a Beta tester.

IMPORTANT x2: PLEASE READ THE MANUAL! Many things have changed since V 0.61! Some old processes were removed and the entrance to the warehouse was removed when the guild was added!

Use official CB forum to help you with any issues in CB:

A new Craftybits Manual has been included. It is updated from the old manual and contains a lot of information about what's been added.

For a list of additions, see the changelog file included.

Introduction
========================

Welcome to Oblivion, Craftybits style.

Craftybits is a hands-on crafting mod. Basically, instead of making everything through a series of menus, CraftyBits lets you physically place the items in front of you, and turn them into something else before your eyes.

Even though CB is still a beta, it's perfectly playable. Almost every single vanilla weapon and armor is craftable, and there are many new ones. However, there are still some bugs and balancing issues to be balanced out, which is why this is still considered a beta release.

For an idea of what's been added since .6, please be sure to read the change log!

Craftybits now includes skills added from X-Skills, however this is NOT REQUIRED for the mod to work properly and the skills themselves are still in the works. The point is to allow you to have some kind of sense of progression as you are crafting. You can toggle these new Craftybits skills to be counted as minor or major skills and they may or may not add to your attributes on level up (depending on your preferences).

Last time we released CB, we included a very detailed ReadMe file that we now call the "Craftybits Manual". This manual has been updated and is included in the download file. It goes over every main process in Craftybits and gives you the basic run down of how it works.

Please be sure to read the manual!

HOWEVER...

For your convenience, we have added to the in-game +CB Options menu (click on it in your inventory to open it) a +References section that contains guidebooks and information on ALL recipes for objects that can be crafted in the mod. Anything that is not covered in the manual is covered in the references section. These books can also be found in our brand new Guild Hall (we did away with our ratty old Warehouse and added a Guild Hall just south of the giant bridge that spans Lake Rumare). But I must press you to NOT take the books as they are the objects that get pulled when you reference them in the menu.

Installation
========================

To install, extract the contents of the mod to your Data folder, selecting the add-ons and glue mods of your choice (Program Files/Bethesda Softworks/Oblivion).

Things that come with the mod:

Meshes and textures.

Craftybits.esm (required)

Craftybits.esp (required)

CLS-CB-Cobl.esp (glue mod that adds Craftybits foods to the COBL dinnerplate)

CB-VVA Glue.esp (glue mod for Vim and Vigor Advanced that gives players more methods of gathering water. Please see the specific readme for that mod for details.)

CB-Cobl-VVA Glue.esp (combines the two glue mods above)

CB-X-Skills Removal.esp (X-Skills Removal was made for those who are having trouble with X-Skills causing Wood Carving, Tailoring, and Skinning to be broken. I do not know why this happens, but one of our most thorough beta testers has continually run into problems with X-Skills. So if these functions are not working for you, try this mod first.)

To uninstall, just delete any of the files you added above.

========================
LOAD ORDER
========================

Cobl Glue.esp
VVAdvanced.esp
(COBL or VVA Craftybits glue mods)

....your other mods....

Craftybits.esp
CB-X-Skills Removal.esp

...your other mods that have to be loaded last or else....

So basically, it's advised to put your COBL and VVA related glue mods as early as possible, but the Craftybits.esp and X-Skills Removal as late as possible.
