You are so correct and this has bugged my in a number games. Round and square bales are made by machines! Also, hay is green, straw is yellow-brown. Hay is made from dry grass, straw is leftover after the seed have been harvested. What I like to see in game are green-brown colored (like dry grass) man-made hay stacks, not yellowish machine made straw bales.
Trouble is, and I don't know why they never thought of this, these round bales are made by modern baling machines. I would like to see someone make some free standing sheaves and a real looking haystack.
