Name: Main Menu Loading Screen - To Oblivion!
Category: User Interfaces
Required: DarkUId DarN w/ loading bar at top.
For: The Elder Scrolls Nexus. DO NOT UPLOAD ELSEWHERE.
Replaces the DarkUId DarN loading screen with an extremely high quality, edited Bethesda wallpaper. It is in 2048x2048 resolution.
I created this mod for myself, but would like to give back to the TES Nexus modding community. This is my first submission. Thank you so much, TESNEXUS!
An area of the image is darkened to accomodate the "Loading Bar at Top" option of the DarkUId DarN mod.
The purpose of this texture replacer is to have a beautiful opening screen at any resolution 1280x1024 ~or GREATER~. For those who play oblivion at a lower resolution or prefer a lower resolution, ask me! See "Future Versions".
"Low-Res" was not the purpose of this mod.
In the future, should anyone ask for it, I would be happy to create version(s) of this loading screen that fit the original Oblivion UI or other UI replacement mods/options (such as vertical loading bars or loading bar at bottom).
As I have only installed this mod alongside the DarkUId DarN mod, these are the only instructions I can guarantee.
DarkUId DarN UI w/ Loading Bar on Top
Drag-and-drop the provided "Data" folder into your primary Oblivion program folder and merge the contents of it with the existing "Data" folder.
The contents include:
I HIGHLY suggest you back up these files incase you decide you don't like my loading screen and would like to switch back to your old screen.
"loading_symboldui" is the large oblivion symbol overlay. My version is an empty image, so as to make the symbol disappear. "loading_background" is the actual image you'll see.
Don't you hate having to press the "esc" button each time you start Oblivion? The movies that play before your loading screen are as follows:
- Data/Video/2k games.bik
- Data/Video/bethesda softworks HD720p.bik
- Data/Video/game studios.bik
- Data/Video/Oblivion Legal.bik
If you back these videos up, it'll go straight to your loading screen! You may back up these videos, naming them "BACKUP 2k games.bik", or whatever you like, in order to avoid these videos. Try it!
If you like that, back up "Oblivion iv logo.bik" as well. After your game loads, it'll go straight to your "Map loop.bik", which is the place you REALLY want to be!
Both for creating Oblivion, and for allowing the modding community to invade all of the game's files and change/replace/add whatever we like. You're great!
For the original Oblivion wallpaper used. I altered the image in Photoshop without permission.
