steeltooth, simply put, you are wrong. The DB is full of icy-veined assassins. They're in it for the thrill of the kill and for a decent paycheck. If they were psychopaths, they would do things such as wear the scalps of their kills for shoulder pads or have war paint on their faces made from the blood of their enemies & be like frothing at the mouth screaming blood & death, not sign up to earn some cash, then come back & clock in for another job. The DB are more like assassins/hitmen, not psychopaths. They're almost like office workers. "Hey Joe, heard you completed a good contract yesterday." "Huh? Oh yeah, it went well. Another day, another Septim, you know how it goes." They're more like that.
I agree the dungeon is fantastic made. But it would fit better at some necromancers. And neither assasins or necromancers likes the stenc of dead horse, by the way.
Don't want to sound bad but I think this is more a Necromancer lair than a professionnal assassins one, those are prof. hired killers not serial killers (except the orc maybe) so as Graham says I doubt they want dead bodies all over the place, they would rather dissolve them in some strange creature acidic liquid or something lol. Only the orc character kills to kill the others kills for the art-beauty and money out of it at least the's what they say and what is written in the various notes in-game.
Corpses tend not to have a pleasant odor. And they are extremely unsanitary, tend to attract flies that spread disease, as well as just maggots, and other insects. I think that necros tend to tolerate that since corpses are, essentially, the tools of the trade and, well, they are insane. Assassins, on the other hand are, at the root of it, business people. They do it for the thrill of the kill also, but mostly out of the fact that someone is paying them to do it.As much as they must love their job, the smell of a rotting corpse does not make for a good tour for a new recruit.
If they want advertizement, their corpses are more likely to be hanging from some city lamppost, than lying in the halls, or found dead in bed, or in public, depending on the requirements of the clients.Where they eat and sleep, and conduct commerce and socialize. It would take somethihng extreme to attract anyone with their olfactory senses intact, to stick around to tolerate the odor that must just saturate the place, like fear of the outside world (doubtful) or a genetic disorder (born without a nose).
