About this mod

A new system for gaining xp and using it to purchase stat increases. Completely replaces vanilla leveling.

Permissions and credits
A good while ago I made an xp system that I released a version of along with a respawn system. I wasnt really satisfied with the xp system at all and it didnt half work because of the approach I took. Making more refinements to my xp system (my design isnt made specifically for OB) I decided to remake it from scratch for OB. It should now be ready for its first beta testing by ppl other than me.

My system is different from other xp based systems. It doesnt use the "kill stuff -> get xp -> lvl up like normal -> rinse -> repeat" method most games and other systems made for OB use.

What makes it different is the approach to a classless levelless system. The entire system is built around a concept of what I call a Focus Stat. Your Focus Stat is your highest stat. It might not be exactly the stat you WANT to be the focus of your char and its up to you to put the effort into that stat to make it what you want it to be. Your Focus Stat directly determines your "level" as far as the world is concerned. Altho as far as you and the game are concerned youll never be higher than level 1. But based on your Focus Stat the world adapts and changes like it always has (the pc offset scaling world - unless you got somethin else that changes that)

What the Focus Stat represents is your outward view of the world around you. If your focused on melee and your Focus Stat is Strength then all your "sizing up" of opponents is gonna be based on what you know about physical prowess. While that can be a very good judge when goin against another melee type it can be totally misleading when going again someone that doesnt focus their training the same as you do.

That being said the mod works this way. You kill stuff and gain xp (its a low numbers system you wont be gaining 500 xp a kill - ever) At any given time you can ONLY have as much xp as it costs to train your highest stat. Your Focus Stat is ALWAYS your HIGHEST stat reguardless if thats your actual focus for your char. This represents natural talent outside of training before your training progresses beyond your natural skill.

So if your highest skill takes 160 xp to train again then 160 xp is the max you can have at any given time. However nothing limits how you spend your xp. You can spend xp however you want in whatever stats you want as long as you have enough.

Right now the system only covers stats. It might only ever cover stats since skills go up with use. You gain xp in 3 tiers all based on your Focus Stat (broken down to determine your "level") vs the actual level of whatever you just killed. A range of 2 levels lower to 2 levels higher is the base tier. This is the default xp. Lower than that and the xp is drastically lowered possibly even none at all and any higher and the xp is upped quite a bit. Its all based on levels and isnt mob/npc/boss/type/etc dependent (for now)

Theres some hotkeys for using the system and they are NOT customizable at this point (incase anyone was thinkin about askin)
*M - Quick Display of current xp max xp and Focus Stat
*N - Quickbuy - You can assign any stat to this key and when you press it itll automatically buy the next point with no confirmation or menus at all.
*Shift+M - Display menu. Buttons for all stats and tells cost in xp and makes sure you want to process before spending xp.
*RCtrl+M - Info menu. The mod keeps track of every point youve bought in every stat as well as how much total xp youve spent.
*Shift+N - Set Quickbuy menu - Buttons of all stats to choose your Quickbuy stat.

The mod wont tell you how much xp you get per kill but I might add an optional "You gained xp!" type message if anyone wants it. Personally I think its annoying and you can always just hit M to check it instantly in a nonobstructive manner.

Things that Im lookin for with testing:
*Bugs - obviously

*Balance - Is xp too much or too little? The lvl range of good/bad/best xp too small? Too large? Hows the scaling as your stats get higher and higher? Hows stats on an "end game" char with and without the mod. Stuff like that
*Feedback - Comments likes dislikes suggestions death threats stuff like that.
