I'm currently working on a similar mod with my own set of cards, and I'm planning on using the blank card mesh from this mod to apply my card textures to. The description says I need to ask for permission, but one of the mod authors has been banned for a decade and the other has been inactive for almost a decade. Would giving credit to them and linking directly to this mod suffice given the circumstances?
Yes, it was a decade of inactivity… I am glad to see that someone still make mods for Oblivion. I can't contact SamLake, but I think that I can give you a permission. Good luck!
Did you ever end up making a card mod? I know it's been 2 years now but I'd like to see if you have, I love card mods The Morrowind Trading Cards one is my favorite though.
Hello all I use this mod from long but I was unable to see cards without CTD. I just found the glitch, lol First of all, I use also this mod from long "AoG Overhaul plus Detect Item" thanks to his author. I crash to desktop when AOG effect is active (amulet of greed is worn or Greed Curse option is ON) Then to avoid crashes, when viewing cards, remove amulet from active equipment or turn Greed curse option to Off These are my five cents for this beloved game :-) Have a nice day all
I have enjoyed card collecting mods ever since Morrowind Trading Cards, I like the Skyrim one too, my issue with this one is it was less of a hassle to look at them than even in Morrowind. The Skyrim one you Can fully see them and rotate them in the menus, zoom in and rotate like you can with all the weapons and armor. I'm not knocking the quality of the Oblivion cards they are good, I even found a rare shiny, but what ruined it for me wasn't the mediocre voice acted quests they were decent enough, it's just how broken the buying an album system is, After finding a bunch of cards I went to see bought an album, was given the option to put all my cards into an album and I thought great, I've got somewhere to keep them, except they didn't move to the album at all for me so the albums are essentially useless for me.
I wanted to send this is private but I cant send you private messages the forum and Nexus claims. Well:
I like your card mod a lot and I want to add a section for the cards in my current project, The Companion Friendly Hobbit Home and it would work right away as it is but to make it work perfect, then I would need to make an esm, copy the cards to the esm, make a script that exchanges the players cards to the ones in the esm and that way I can make scripts that adds each card to a specific location but I can also just let the player to add anything to a specific location anyway but still. I also want to use your shelves for it but I can also make new shelves as I will do that for my fututre library but if I add them I also want to retexture them to fit better in the Hobbit Home theme.
Adding the cards will become a later project, after I completed the main section of my future library.
I can't view albums or cards in viewing mode. I've tried all the advice I can find out there but the album always appears below my feet and cards just get moved around like a telekinesis spell when I hold the mouse button on them in the menu. Anyone know any fixes since the drop me thing got cut out?
There was some text I read that indicated that if I have a rare card in my inventory, I would get a boost o attributes or skills? I have a few 3 star cards (Jyggalag etc.), but no boost. Am I missing something?
Nice little mod, but the Seirra's voice really needs work. Every other voice actor had a mostly natural flow to their words and clear audio quality, but Seirra's sounds like Odion from the english Yu-Gi-Oh season 3. I understand that getting decent audio equipment is expensive, and that voice acting is no easy task, and kudos for the attempt, but I feel that the companion would have been better off with silent lines.
I wanna use this mod but i have "better cities" installed...can i safely uninstall better cities to enjoy this mod?
Update: I uninstalled "Better Cities" using NMM and I probably would need to restart a new game in order for this to work...... i hope it does cus I really like the idea of card collecting. I was gonna try the 'yu-gi-oh' card version but I felt that was lore breaking so I came back to this mod instead because it falls directly into the lore of oblivion. I am hopefully going to enjoy this!
