About this mod

You turn to tell one of you CM Partners what you want the party to do... only to see them all running off. Now you can \"Shout\" your orders to them via configurable hotkeys.

Permissions and credits
Note: V 095 is current. Fixes an issue with the torch command.

Details
=======
This mod gives you several hotkeys that can issue several of the +Party commands to all of your CM Partners without needing to speak to one of them. Hotkeys are defined by default but are customizeable via a reset spell or reset item.

This release is a beta. I wrote it while working on another mod that makes use of NPC and I found myself needing a way to regroup my test NPC's. I haven't actually played with CM Partners enough to know if the mod works well enough in play or if I've chosen the right few +party commands to support. All of the functions work well and the mod is stable, however. Its a beta only in the sense that it has never been touched by a serious CM Partner user and could probably benefit from some feedback.

Each command requires 2 keystrokes- similar to using the shift key to get a capital letter while typing. In this case the first key (analogous to "shift") is called the Command Key. By default the Command key is set to Backspace. (It may be Delete on your keybaord- its the key at the right end of the number row: 9,0,-,=,:Backspace:)

When held down, the Command Key will disable the player controls similar to when you are immobilized during a cut scene in the game. This is so that you may chose ANY key- including A,S,D,W - for use as hot keys.

To "shout" a command to your partners hold down the Command Key and press the desired hotkey. They are as follows by default (hot key in caps:

Command ; Backspace
teleport; C_ome here, you idiots!! (Works like the teleport ring. Very handy.)
summon ; S_ummon
torch ; T_orch
follow ; F_ollow
loot ; L_oot
heal ; H_eal
harvest ; I_ngredients
standby ; W_ait here.
mark ; M_ark
return ; Ret_U_rn
recall ; R_ecall
stay ; sta_Y here
catchall; oh, for G_od's sake! G_et over here!! G_rrrrrr!!!!

(If you don't know what the above commands do, please refer to the documentation that came with CM Partners for more information.)

All are standard +Party commands except Catchall.

Catchall is for summoning your party when you can't remember which of the many commands you need to summon your party members. The cathcall command simply issues the various types or party recalling commands one after the other in order to attempt bringing back your wayward partners. It doesn't always work so use it at your own risk.

The keys can be set to any other key via a +[Partner Hotkeys] Lesser Power that your character will receive when the mod is first loaded. This can also be changed to a misc item if you'd rather not use a spell. Details on that are below.

When you cast or equip +[Partner Hotkeys] a menu will pop up after a short pause. Most of the menu should be self explanatory. Each hotkey function and its currently assigned hotkey will be displayed and choosing one begins the process of changing which key is assigned to it.

Follow the on-screen instructions. After you've selected which party command you wish to reassign the hotkey for you will be prompted to HOLD DOWN a key and press "OK." If you fail to hold down a key you wil;l be returned to the main menu.

-(Page 2) will take you to the second page of options since they couldn't all be fit in one menu.
-[Restore Defaults] will restore all hotkeys to the values listed above.
-Done will exit the menu.

On Page 2 there is also a Spell / Item option. This toggles the +[Partner Hotkeys] between a Lesser Power and a misc item.

FAQ
===

Q. Hey, what about Eat, Sleep and all those other nfty commands? I use those all the time and want them to be hotkeys too!
A. I had to draw the line somewhere. I may in the future include other +Party commands but for now have chosen to focus on the more untilitarian ones and commands that help you keep your party of (rather stupid) NPC's together.

Q. Does this work with "X" mod?
A. Probably. Give it a try and let me know.

Q. What if I use another mod that uses the same keys?
A. Use the +[Partner Hotkeys] spell or misc item to set your partner hotkeys to something else. That's why I included this functionality. While my defaults make sense so you can remember which key does what it'll be up to use to select keys that work with your other mods. If the other mod includes the capacity to reset its keys you could do that instead. Up to you.

Q. You really should (implement this feature / make this kind of thing for a different partner mod / etc.)
A. You might be right. Please make suggestions either at the game forums or download sites and we'll discuss them there. I may or may not agree, my time is fairly limited and I have other irons in the fire- but I'm open to suggestions.

Q. This is a beta. I don't like betas. Don't bother me until you finish it, you lazy modder.
A. I made this as a utility to help me maintain my sanity while testing another mod I'm making that requires companions. I don't normally play with companion mods so I haven't really tested the mod out in sustained gameplay. I figured other companion gamers might find it useful, though, so I polished it up for release. Its a simple mod and I have tested each feature to make sure it does what is intended. Its a beta because it hasn't been extensively playtested but it won't break your game. See the "Known Issues" for things to watch out for.

Install
=======
1. Extract the files to a temporary location.
2. Examine the folder structure and make corrections where necessary.
3. Copy files to (install folder)\Oblivion\Data\
4. Start Oblivion Launcher, click 'Data Files', place a checkmark beside the .esp file.

Uninstall
=========
1. Start Oblivion Launcher, click Data Files, uncheck the .esp file(s).
2. Delete the espassociated with the mod.

Known Issues or Bugs
====================
- The catchall command is experimental. Use it only if you can't summon your party members any other way and don't remember where you left them.

- If you use R as a hot key your perspective will still shift between 1st and 3rd person.

- If you assign a hotkey that another mod uses, hitting that key will probably trigger BOTH the CM Partner command and the function the other mod assigns to that key.
