When I give my followers armor and weapons (Martin, Adoring Fan, Modryn, Sir Lathon) they have it, but then it just disappears from their inventory when we load somewhere else. I lost a bunch of items like KOTK armor and Umaril's sword.
Thanks a lot xdarkness. Works like a charm. I managed to get my companion Vilja into Nehrim but a lot of her functions aren't working like inventory so I couldn't recharge her weapons and armor but your mod saved the day.
And there are Skyrim mods that do basically the same thing (search Skyrim Nexus for things like "inventory"). It can be challenging to get them to work perfectly, because of Skyrim's screwy "outfits" system. Often you give someone something and they won't wear it. You often have to use the Console to force them to equip the item you want them to wear, and to remove the default outfit item from them. (In that order; if you remove a default outfit item when they're still wearing the outfit, the system just gives them another copy automatically).
Completely aware that the author won't see this, but leaving it nonetheless.
While this mod is kickass, it has an issue: casting the spell on certain NPC's (confirmed with; Mythic Dawn agents after they don armour and Martin after he puts on the Amulet) will cause the game to indefinitely freeze, and can only be exited via task manager.
This is super-duper awesome! I use it for all kinds of stuff: 1. Faster, no-dialogue access to companion inventory. Very handy in clothing/armor shops and for allocating loot. 2. Fix NPCs with broken-mesh/texture mod clothing by giving them something that works. 3. Find out what someone's wearing if you don't recognize the item. 4. Disappointed by a weak boss fight? Give him/her/it a badass weapon from your own stash! Make it an honorable duel. 5. Defeat bugs, e.g. when NPC is supposed to give you something and they don't because of a fouled-up quest status. 6. Did your house mod (or official stuff like Battlehorn Castle for that matter) come with staff who don't have inventory share but who have crappy gear? Gift them with the good stuff. 7. Really love an elegant clothing mod and want to upgrade the look of everyone in town? Have at it. Or make them all look like anime characters or fetishwear models or whatever amuses you. 8. Does a vanilla temporary follower NPC die no matter what you do because you're on a very high difficulty level? Share some better gear like you would in real life if you wanted to keep someone alive. 9. Put ballerina outfits on Golden Saints for a laugh. 10. Accidentally stuck your companion with an arrow that's persisting? Pull it out. And so much more. I use this more than any other script spell, and it's far more convenient than any other companion inventory access mod (especially if you run crime mods that have the guards freak out when you go into sneak mode in public - most companion mods adapt attempts at pickpocketing companions into fast inventory access, but the crime mods don't take this into account).
Oh, of course it can also be used for cheating. Like that shield? Take it. LOL.
PS: This script-spell works reliably (so far, 100% of the time), unlike Exchange Things a.k.a. SundukMod.esp, which only seems to be available about 1 time out of 20 in my game (presumably a mod conflict).
