If you mean the locked chest in the Arch Mages area, you cannnot access it, it is the merchant chest for your enchanter NPC....yes the display cases are useable, just click on it to open the door, use the z key to hold whatever item you want to put in, be careful as you do so.
I have a question or two, where is the key to get into the locked chest, and are the display cabinets usable and if so how? I always thought I should get more than a key for being the Guild Master feel like I've earned something to show for it , haven't looked around properly yet so will rate after I use it.
