I love this mod, but my only complain are those two spectator NPCs at the top of the gate. They start having a radiant conversation and they interrupt the Arena announcer. Is there something you can do about them? I don't think they're essential to the mod.
I was hesitant to install a mod from 2008 mid-game, but surprisingly, this works retroactively and without any issues at all. the extra crowd is great!
Dang, has it really been 15 years ago that I made this mod? Since I am recently unemployed I am going through a my old mods and updating where necessary. Finished Morrowind and currently working on Fallout 3 mods.
Hey, you might wanna take a gander at this one, your arena altar script affects ALL altars, not just the arena one, since you apparently set your script as an override to the original game's altar script instead of making a separate one. I just made that script of yours independant and came here to check if you had fixed it on your end, i'm about to see if my change fixed this while retaining the functionality you intended.
Update: yeap, problem solved, now i can't absolutely test if it works as intended because when i added your mod, i was already grand champion and maybe there is no mechanism in your mod to handle that, so the altars still assume i'm some unworthy worm who can't use 'em, but the script is clearly firing in your arena altars but not in frostcrag or mages guild anymore.
Oh yeah, by pure coincidence i'm also recently unemployed and squandering my time with some old passions :)
Upd2: strange, i investigated the altar script and i'm rank 8 in the arenacombatants fac, and way above what the altars need to function, which is 5 or more, so there is no reason the altars should be showing me that message.
Upd3: fixed the script, the solution was pretty simple but i'm really rusty with code, i'm gonna drop the modified plugin here for any stragglers to use, and so that you can update this hassle free when you're back.
I'm using the low version of the mod so maybe that's where the confusion is here but, I checked this mod in xEdit and no such Altar script exists. Not sure what you're talking about at all, but this mod has always worked great for me. Doesn't cause any issues with Altars anywhere in the game, since there is no Altar script in the mod.
This mod is really awesome I love it! The only problem I have with it is that when I'm in the arena in the fighting area I get massive fps drops and it gets really laggy! Is there a way I can somehow get better fps while having this mod installed or do I unfortunately have to play without this mod activated?
This is, without a doubt, a must have for all players. It basically makes the Arena functional, rather than a minigame about waiting for a week for a lousy match. The extra crowd is pure joy.
Only thing missing is speeding up narrator and even opening the gate before he end speaking, that´s always been on top hated things in Oblivion, but other than that, perfect mod.
Always been one of my favorite Arena mods. I noticed the conflicts with posters like others below did when using Better Cities. I love the diverse spectators! thats fantastic, I am personally not a fan of the lights or the new posters and statues, I wish there was a way I could get the spectators as a standalone, oh and of course the amount there is I love that too! and the unsynced clapping and cheering! I will endorse it just for those few things! but the clock and other stuff i'm just not a fan of ^^ but I love it anyways!
Not a fan of the clock? Huh? It's just a clock in the corner, lol. It affects nothing. That's sad how someone can nitpick a great mod like that. Takes 2 seconds to delete it in-game if you're not a "fan" of it.
