Hi, I don't know if you'll return to see this but thanks for making this & from the bottom of the description thanks allowing people to edit it.

Also I read you mentioned of a forthcoming matching tail, for you said that years ago & you never made it, I hope you don't mind of me making one using your plated design to go along with a few variation choices that uses a edits of your plated underbelly design that are part of my HGEC Female Argonian body texture plus mod.

I guess you won't make matching tails and hands :C

Very nice that I can use it with HGEC. Thanks!

I did exactly what the instructions told me except backup the files, however I did rename them. The mod is not working, still got scaly bellies. Halp?

Update: I tried again and... now the body texture is a blurry mess.

What form of archive invalidation are you using? For more info either scroll all the way down to my answer to Gonwyte or click here (hint ... your scrolling finger won't get much of a workout, in fact if you have a big monitor you may be able to see it without scrolling).

I'm new to the whole modding thing, so I'm still in the learning process.

I understand the directions of how to install the mod, but my Textures in my Data Folder for Oblivion is a BSA File instead of a folder, and I don't know how I am supposed to access that.

      In response to post #18489109.

The mod description doesn't explicitly specify, but you'll need to have either Exnem's or HGEC body replacer installed first. Those folder paths are created when you install either, and these body textures will not work properly with the vanilla game body meshes.

Before you add any mods to the game it uses compressed archives (those BSA files) for almost all of the game assets. As it needs meshes or textures etc. it decompresses them from the BSAs.

When a mod needs to replace vanilla game assets with it's own one of the problems it must overcome is getting the game to use the replacements instead of the original assets from the BSAs. In other words, even if you have an Oblivion\Data\Textures\Characters\argonian\female\footfemale.dds file the game will continue to use the one it has in it's compressed archive (Oblivion - Textures - Compressed.bsa). To overcome this modders came up with a trick called Archive Invalidation.

Different methods have been tried over the years. The most current and problem free method is called BSA Redirection. You can easily set it up using Oblivion Mod Manager (OBMM). Click on the Utilities button then select Archive Invalidation. Click on BSA Redirection and then if you use the Steam version of the game click on Reset BSA Timestamps (Steam in all their great wisdom changed the dates on all of the vanilla game BSA files, thus breaking Archive Invalidation). Click on Update Now and then close the dialogue and then OBMM (it doesn't commit it's changes until you close it).

I'd love to try this mod, but all I ever get is a bunch of glitchy broken mess. It's like my argonian was wearing some weird camo suit, which isn't really very attractive at all.

Also, there are two files of fooftemale.dds, one of them named as footfemale2. Both of them work the exact same.

Thank you Fox, been using these for a while on various HGEC compatible meshes and combined with Robert male plus Nivea's recent work ... Very nice (have a look at the user uploaded screenshot )

    @LetsNewb

Are you sure you followed installation instructions?

    Installation instructions: goto Crogram Files> Bethesda Softworks> Oblivion> Data> Textures> characters> argonian> female
and create backups of footfemale.dds and footfemale_n.dds, rename them so that they do
    not get overwritten.

From what I can tell with the pictures you uploaded, your game is trying to use Oblivion's default Argonian textures, meaning that your Argonian textures aren't there/ aren't in the right folder, or aren't named correctly. You have to take the texture files this mod provides, rename them as mentioned in it's description ("footfemale.dds and footfemale_n.dds") and put them into the file directory/ folder mentioned (Oblivion> Data> Textures> characters> argonian> female).

So, I uploaded some screenshots of an issue I'm having. I would love to hear some ideas as to why this happens. The default Exnem texture works fine. It's only happening with this mod. This is my favorite skin mod so help will get kudos (the least I can do).
