Hey, I'm playing Skyrim now and I just went to Raven Rock in Solthsteim... it was very emotional for me and brought back good memories. I am so happy that I played Morrowind a few times before diving into Skyrim... it made me appreciate it more. After playing Bloodmoon vanilla and with the Solthsteim ovehaul mod I have to say that the ovehaul mod is bloody amzing compared to Skyrim Solthsteim. Still it is incredible to see what Bethesda did over there. it looks amazing but the bone armour really sucks! It actually looks better in a modded Morrowind :/ Still, it was so nice to see Morrowind clutter and ash yams
Ah yes, Dragonborn. I remember when Bethesda where about to release it, I was so excited! Then it came out and I tested it, and... I was soooo disapointed. The Island looks smaller than the one from Bloodmoon, the quests are not very good and there is nothing much to do.. I don't know if you have finished it so I won't spoil anything but, this might be surprising but I enjoyed a lot more Dawnguard. However, the clothes, armors and architectures looks very good. Too bad they haven't done more, like redoing the imperial forts like they were in Morrowind.. well I'm gonna stop now
Ya the architecture looks amazing so far and I am just hunting down the priest who tried to have me killed. I just got there and I'm off to the Skall villiage.
What do you mean the Island is smaller??? Stupid Bethesda... why would they do that?
80% of the quests I have done so far are just baby-ish and many are not finished or don't make any sense... in fact that is my major gripe about Skyrim... at least the main quest is better than Oblivion but the other Guild quests are just too easy and short. They have really dumbed it down... any eassier you might as well sell the games to monkeys
Still the game looks amazing but it is a pain to manage compared to Morrowind and Oblivion.
I only bought Skyrim so I can play SKY-WIND whenever that gets completed. I figured I might as well give it a run through.
Well, I don't know if it's just me but I have the feeling I can cross the entire Islands a lot more quicly than in Morrowind (And my morrowind character is fast) but that's maybe just me.. Yes, the quests aren't really good, I was really disapointed by the main quest of Dragonborn, also the guilds quests in Skyrim are like you said, too shorts, but the end of some of them like thieves and the Dark brotherhood are quite good ! I don't know about Skywind.. (I am complaining too much !) There is a lot of work for this mod, and the quality is outstanding. But I feel like there are going too far from the original Morrowind. By adding new plants, creatures etc. Not lore friendly in my opinion. I think it's too bad for the new elders scrolls players that are going to discover Morrowind with Skywind, they are not going to know the real game, and that's a shame. I haven't played Morroblivion recently, but from what I have done, it's really good, very nice to see Vvardenfell in the Oblivion Engine.
Well Sky-Wind is not really supposed to be a remake of Morrowind the game... from what I remember reading it is going to take place after the events of Skyrim so it is possible that there would be new plants and lets be realistic, there has to be more plant species than just the 10 or so that existed in the original game.
But ya I feel ya, the new kids still artgue that Skyrim is the best game ever and Bla, bla, bla... we know better
Good I am glad to hear you are enjoying Morrowblivion. I have always wanted to try it but I then got into Fallout 3, the I made the best gaming decision I ever made and played Morrowind for a couple of years. I just played Fallout NV and.. meh. I liked FO3 much better. As for Skyrim, I prepared myself for all the disappointment and I have found a place where I can just play and enjoy the game. Like you said, the guild quests are so far good too easy to become leader... I hate that I can become leader of every guild... I wish my choices would make a difference in the game world... still with all my complaints there is enough to keep me happy right now.
No, Skywind will take place at the same time as Morrowind, you will fight Dagoth Ur etc, however, Beyond Skyrim : Morrowind will take place after the events of Skyrim. Ya, they think Skyrim is the best and they think they are Elder Scrolls fan, but to be a true fan you have to play to all Elder Scrolls Daggerfall and Arena were very cool too ! About Morroblivion, you should try it one day, there is a lot of work ! of course there is a lot things to fix but it's still very cool. I feel the same about New Vegas, this one really disapointed me, there was a very unique atmosphere in FO3, Washington, the desolated landscapes, the characters, I liked so much this game, but New Vegas was really not as good, I didn't like the fact that you were playing in a desert, that had not really been affected by the radiations, anyway, I haven't finished it yet, I can't get into it That's a thing I don't like in Skyrim, after after completing the main the quests etc, NPCs still consider you as a normal guy, you're the Drabonborn, who killed dozen of Dragons and yet you have to play like you were a lambda guy... Very cool screenshots, the colors are very nice, at least Skyrim as a very good design !
I'm torn with Skyrim, right now I am enjoying it if I turn my brain off...
Skywind: Wha?!? Are you sure? I remember reading that it wasn't going to be a remake... sigh Anyways it looks amazing... I'm not sure if I can wait the 5 years for a working beta. That is why I never bothered with Morrowblivion. Hopefully more people are involved and the work will progress faster.
There are just too many projects like this that never get completed... I hope Skywind is just not another waste of time. This coming march there will a huge leap forward in CHIP development and next year the new video cards will be released. This means that in 15 months the current gaming PCs will be obsolete. Start saving your money now. The new video cards will be a grand and you will need to build an entire new system to run it. With a new monitor to take advantage of the graphics a new modern top of the line gaming rig is going to be expensive. 3500-4k with a new monitor (1k for video card, 600-800 for new monitor, and the rest goes to the other parts and pieces.)
Basically I have a 12-15 months to save up
I am just trying to decide if I should upgrade the card I have now or put the cash away...
