There is nothing quite like imagination + skill. I cannot even be offended by a possible lore clash since magic is so much like technology. Actually it is probably a branch of technology, if you think about it. To say it cannot happen in Tamriel seems wrong. OK, it doesn't match our history on Earth, but this is obviously not Earth. Everyone's game is different & I love to see most of them here, especially the creative ones.
There's a series of fantasy books that I read many years ago about an anti-hero prince who is rejected by his own people because he has no magic in his veins. Everyone else has some magic, to varying degrees. The people were brought to that world thousands of years before by Merlin, to escape persecution from humans in this world. Humans had been searching for the lost magic ever since. Unfortunately, at the end of the series, they found the new world. And came with tanks.
That reminds me of some book where there was this Salvatore-esque world of magic and elves and stuff. Then people from other reality "mirrored" themselves via sky or something and pointed nuclear rockets at the other "sky world".
I read this when i was teen and no clue what it was called.
I can't recall such a story For me magic is imagination and imagination is magic. Such things should not be limited Thank you very much for this interesting topic!
