basically keep everything except maybe the 1976 date and "play" because the scanner writing part looks rad. zoom levels would be epic, or maybe just some shapes and stuff from a font matching NMS Alien race languages...that would be pretty immersive
actually I disagree with the comment below, I love the vcr tech and it totally is believable considering the fact that while obviously the current in-game tech is centuries(/thousands?) of years ahead of ours, the player DOES start the game out with a crashed/ruined ship with ruined gear so it makes sense the binoculars being fuzzy and all, however the only thing that would win me over absolutely and have me install this mod and keep it that way, please make a version that removes the "play" from it which would make it super immersive. May'be just keep the text to a minimum and use a 4x 6x 8x etc. for the few different levels of zoom?
*oh and btw great mod, would love to see it rockin' a "predator vision" from Predator 2 as it would go hand in HAND with this considering their idea of the future was literally just 1990 + Danny Glover and a RIDICULOUS Desert Eagle set 7 years ahead of the release date in '97 apparently being the distant FUTURE.* end rant
Haven't tried it yet, but I dig the screen you have up. If I might make a suggestion... Ditch the VCR font and the the word "PLAY". While those are from the correct era, the analog VHS tech just doesn't fit in this case, imo. What would go great with this would be:

Oh man wouldn't that be cool! I could see this happening at some point, not sure if its possible yet though I do want to be the one to do it. Keep any eye out!
