New version of the mod potentially fixes this by adding a delay to the script, if you could try it to see if your game still crashes that would be very helpful.
This mod is a nice convenience but it comes with an unwanted side affect, you can no longer redeem cigarette packs and cartons for Sierra Madre tokens because they always get unpacked. Would it be possible to add an option to repack the cigs back into the packs and cartons so that I can get SM chips during the DLC? Because they were kinda the main source of chips until you get to the casino
i just had to add this because: 1) head image: incredible; 2) background image hilarious; 3) requirements are just too fucking funny 4) i wish i could smoke irl as a hobbie so i'll let my characters have this
The original BLTC does this, and there was one little obscure issue with it, so FYI:
Jericho (from Fallout 3, so possibly ToTW, dunnk about any NV NPC doing the same) will endlessly nag about needing a cigarrete, as he will only ever start smoking if you place an original non-ingestible cigarrete on his inventory.

I just went and bought a carton of cigarettes from Blake and had no issues, so it is probably something on your end.
