Hi. Does this work with DLCs? I noticed there is no dependency on DLCs If it is really a problem to make this mod steal, would it be easier to make a second mod that only steals?
Thanks for the mod. Until now, the only glitch I found was at Goodsprings, because the script keeps trying to loot those bottles you shoot at the tutorial. Since I prefer to choose what I want to steal, all the rest works fine for me.
Yes, there is such a bug, as I found out, it is a bug of the game itself with infinite items, no matter how much the mod tries to pick up the item, it does not end or is considered valid even after looting, this bug is extremely rare.
I tested the experimental version too, but it has some random pauses, mainly to loot corpses. After manual looting the corpses, the script resumes and keeps working.
This is beautiful! Now I can't live without this I've noticed this detail but sometimes the mod doesn't want to loot plants and I can stand in front of a plant for several minutes without the mod taking it, it usually manages to load a different cell but if I stay outdoors it starts ignoring them. On the other hand it would be even more beautiful if the mod stole things, I tried to get into the geck to eliminate the "illegal" variables (I'm basically guessing here) but I get the error "Missing expression in set command" which it shouldn't since I'm using the extender. Any suggestions on this?
1. Not everyone collects plants, only those listed in the mod, you need to add plants from other mods to the list, but then the dependence on mods increases. 2. I can’t say anything about the theft, I haven’t even tried flattery there, in fact, half of the mod needs to be rewritten. 3. Regarding variables, I didn’t quite understand which variables you were trying to exclude, do not forget about variable bindings in scripts.
God, I missed this mod. Can't thank you enough. Though it does have a semi-minor new bug, in that it seems to refuse to loot certain items. Specifically, it won't loot ammunition, or caps, but only when they're in containers.
These are not bugs, in the original mod it collects only from containers, corpses of NPCs and creatures. I will try to make a version with collection from everywhere, but most likely it will not work, since it is difficult to manipulate items in the environment in the game, also commands in scripts need an object in the form of a container (inventory) to manipulate items, if you know more about this, tell me.
? I absolutely remember the original collecting both container and world objects. Like, one click, and it was only a matter of hunting down locked containers. Did the original not grab world objects for you?
Yeah, it picks up everything outside of containers just fine, including console placed and player dropped objects. It's only some selective, arbitrary items in containers and corpses it won't pick up.
I really like that it leaves containers, bodies, red items, and special caps while looting all other loose items. I still get to root around for loot in containers without all the busy work of aiming at every individual item.
Edit: After following New Vegas 2023 Essential Modding Guide, this mod works as advertised.
