Awesome mod! Adds a good sense of realism. Have you thought about including the “reload blur” from the game Black? Or know of a way of doing this. More of a cinematic / aesthetic thing than realism I guess but could be cool nonetheless
I'm working on a mod right now that does this. It's 90% of the way there and looks great, but there are some unflattering bugs with it activating in third-person and VATS. I'm a very amateur scripter, so I haven't been able to wrap my head around an elegant solution. Let me know if you wanna take a look.
I'll send you the code later today! I have tried that method but oddly enough, IsPC1stPerson returns 0 no matter what.
This is interesting because I have gotten the code to recognize a transition from 1st to 3rd person and interrupt the effect midway, but I can't get it to avoid playing the effect when starting in 3rd person.
Just a heads up, it appears that the newest version of Stewie's Tweaks fixes the compatibility issue with this/DN's distant blur and the smooth iron sights tweak!
Speaking of transparency fix, do any of you know how to fix the transparency issue with ENB reappearing once one uses Reshade or New Vegas Reloaded. I'm trying to use one or the other with ENB but the transparency issue reappears. The main reason Im trying to use Reshade or New Vegas Reloaded is because some of their shaders provide more FPS friendly effects rather than ENB effects such as MXAO for Reshade (also produces better results) or New Vegas Reloaded's Depth of Field and AO.
How to mostly fix transparency issues on the gun and hands in first person with ENB/NVR/Reshade while using RTGI or other depth based effects: 1. Follow the installation instructions regarding shader packages on this mod page: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/49420 2. Install Enhanced Camera, and turn off first person shadows in its ini file: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55334 3. Enable 3.0 shaders in your fallout.ini, falloutcustom.ini, and falloutprefs.ini under [Display] add bAllow30Shaders=1.
This has worked for me in the past when I used Reshade AO with ENB and NVR.
Very interesting. I am aware of this method but I read somewhere that changing the shaderpackage now a days is ill-advise so I avoided this method. I followed this method and I no longer get the transparent first-person model anymore. Thank you very much for the reply. I've given you a kudos.
I forgot where I read it, if I ever do find out where I'd try to edit my reply. I remember it was from someone who was considered a reliable source in the community. The only downside I've discovered is VATS causes the depth to render a still frame image of whatever the screen was showing in the beginning of VATS and overlays over the zoom in.
Other commenters have mentioned this, but I really wish there was an option to make the effect stronger. Aside from that, I have no complaints. This will be a permanent addition to my load order!
Maybe I went too much on the "twice" as strong... a little bit more would be good. Not all that much, cause as we all know... FNV's blurs are usually... well... "lacking" in terms of quality. Something that goes a little bit more so that it helps with focusing on targets. I already saw an improvement on target acquisition and maintenance on sights!!!!
Thank you very much for your predisposition! Lovely of you!!!

Boris fixed that problem in ENB a very long time ago.

Would you consider creating and option which is stronger? It could be way stronger (without going too strong, though)
Thanks for the mod!!! This is the type and quality of mods that we need to enhance realism and the overall experience in FoNV
