DESCRIPTION
This mod adds a Welrod 9mm silent pistol to the game. Developed by the British Special Operations Executive (SOE) for use by covert operatives during World War II, the Welrod is perhaps the world's quietest pistol. Registering a mere 73 dB, its report is unidentifiable as a gunshot from more than 15 yards away.

Ever since I started playing New Vegas, having this gun in the game has been my holy grail but I was never able to find one. The closest I ever got was a modified .22 pistol mesh that someone made, which looked nothing like a Welrod. After years of searching, I finally found a suitable mesh and set about converting it to work with New Vegas.

The gun itself has very similar stats to the .22 Silenced Pistol, with the damage output of the 9mm pistol. The only changes I made were to the weapon's durability and fire rate. Since the real-life Welrod is a bolt-action pistol (meaning the weapon has to be recocked after every shot), I halved the attack multiplier to simulate this, as New Vegas lacks a system to tell the game to animate the player cocking the bolt every time. Additionally, the real gun has sealed rubber wipes which the bullet punches through on the first shot, and which seal shut behind it. As the gun is fired more, these wipes degrade until they can no longer suppress the sound of the gunshot. Therefore, the weapon's condition will degrade faster than the .22 pistol to simulate the rubber wipes inside the suppressor degrading with each shot. This gun can be repaired with standard .22 Silenced Pistols.

LOCATION
The weapon can be purchased from the Gun Runners, Mick's secret inventory and occasionally from Mr. Holdout on the Strip. Of course, if you're feeling lazy, you can always use the following console command (Substitute ## with the number of the mod in your load order):

player.AddItem ##000ADE 1

INSTALLATION
Extract all the files in the archive to your New Vegas data folder (which is the same folder where FalloutNV.esm is located) and then enable the ESP either in your mod manager of choice, or under "Data Files" in the launcher that runs when you start up New Vegas.

CREDITS
The Welrod mesh and textures were converted by me from Oksak/Silent Enforcer's Welrod mod for Payday 2
