Going to track this. I primarily use the shotguns and I appreciate your tweaks here. So if I understand correctly the Sawn off is the biggest single boom, the Double barrel biggest boom per round, and the Riot best Dps on the 12 ga side of things. lever action best boom per round and combat best DPS for 20 ga?
Pretty much sums it up, Hunting Shotgun bridges the gap between double barrel and riot, while also continuing to be the most accurate shotgun.
And yes, Sawn off is more of a "emergency" gun, it was already pretty situational to begin with (gotta commit to using two rounds, making it a waste on weaker enemies), it was the highest damage in vanilla New Vegas, but not by a whole lot (Hunting shotgun has around 90 damage, sawn off had 100) and when you divide that by 14, I rarely used it, but I doubt DT/DR was kind to splitting your damage that much. Now it does very respectable damage per projectile, so instead of spending 2 ammo and getting around 10-12% more damage for your trouble, you are getting close to double damage of other shotguns (But not quite, and at the cost of having to reload with every shot)
As for 20 guage, thats about right, the lever action actually has the better rate of fire, but with only 5 rounds you get a more consistent DPS increase from having a 12 round magazine. But its very minor damage differences, so it comes down to personal preference. (I prefer the Lever Action, probably because of Terminator 2, and it annoyed me that it was worse than the combat shotgun, when you can find combat shotguns so easily in the capital wasteland, and the lever action is much rarer.)
