Fantastic pictures and follow-up. If you ever plan to come to Boston to do this... Good luck lol. It's so crowded, busy, and expensive here. But I hope you do one!
Thanks again Bernt. Enjoyed these as much as the original set you posted. Obsidian really did their homework. Always wondered if the Lucky 38 was modeled after the modern Stratosphere or the now demolished Landmark. Turns out, according to the FO wiki, that it was both.
Smashing stuff and great set of images Bernt. Really enjoyed looking at the comparisons between in game footage and real life photos. Looks like you had a great adventure as well
Am I missing the point? This "mod" is a picture of the real-life location of Jacobstown.. like.. what? I could've gone on Google Maps and done that myself, sorry to sound un-appreciative, you've clearly gone out of your way to take these pictures by yourself but I don't understand what the point of them is or what I'm supposed to be appreciating here. It's not really a "mod" if it's images and I don't understand why it's on the Nexus. Sorry if I come off sounding like an ass, wasn't my intention.
It's not a mod per se, but that's ok as the Nexus quite deliberately has a "files" section as opposed to a "mods" section. It's also ok for you to not get it. We all have different tastes and sensibilities.
I believe part of the intent is to demonstrate that the game developers did their proverbial homework, researching the locations and attempting to make them look similar to their real life counterparts within the game instead of just throwing something together at random.
What you are possibly missing, though, is the rest of the images as there are more within the file archive so your statement of it being "a picture" is incorrect and gives the impression that you have not even opened the file. Heck, even the file description itself says there are eleven images. Just like you would not likely understand a book or movie just by looking at the cover art, it is illogical to do the same for this file.
Well thanks, I thought for sure someone would bite my head off for me saying that, so firstly thank you for posting such nice sincere response. Secondly I didn't realize that the Nexus had a "files" section so thanks for clearing that up.
I see what you're saying, I do understand and I should've elaborated on the several images I also do appreciate that it's taken considerable time and effort to take the photos. I also understand that it's cool to see that developers have modeled there in-game models to the real-life counterparts so well. Just needed someone to explain, so thank you for that!
Thank you both of you @Brigand: Thanks for coming up with such an elaborate answer. You worded it much better than I could @Grantykinns: I am happy you understand what Brigand tells you. I was trying to come with a reasonable answer to your first comment. Brigand beat me to it. He hit the nail on the head wording it better than I could've done myself.
Thanks Rampage Well - you never know. We still haven't digested this holiday. Planning the next is still in the future. Besides, both of us prefer the big sky to the big cities
