    Update:
After constructive criticism I am testing out smaller, more appropriate, scopes for the shotty. I am also now endlessly debugging for custom weapon mods. Which is coincidentally FULL OF BUGS. So it might be a while.
I HAVE perfected an AimPoint red dot version, however I am waiting to hear back regarding permission to use the resource I ended up using.
Version 1.2 will be here (hopefully) by the end of next week!

EDIT: Life gets in the way of things sometimes. The mod isn't dead but it's running far behind schedule. My version 1.2 prototype didn't look too hot so it's back to the drawing board.

I'm probably 7 years late to this but the scope doesn't have a texture for me. Is it because I installed using the mod manager?

I've went and tried version 1.0 and it didn't have a texture either and when I dropped it, it had disappeared and was replaced by a red !

I like it. It's a good weapon for my character that I'm developing that's a pretty terrible person all around but has a soft spot for her Dad. She's found her Dad's goodbye before starting the bounties quests, so I think that she's going to be a little conflicted about Marko. Anyway, I have encountered one small bug, that being simply the scope's texture is missing when zoomed in, but it sounds like you're fixing that.

Also, I think it would be a bit more personal for the character if you were somehow able to put the character's name in the goodbye letter. I'm not sure how to do it since I haven't made a mod but I'm sure there's a tutorial somewhere that can help with that. I'll enjoy keeping an eye on this mod.

Thank you ShrubberyKing! Glad it's filling a niche for other people.

Scope texture missing when zoomed in? Well that's not good. You mean there is no crosshair when you aim?

As for the name, I'd bet I could find some kind of coding to do it. I didn't do it earlier because I spent hours agonizing over how to word the note. I even had multiple read it, and didn't wanna take the time during finals to see about personalizing. I've seen people do it in terminals and dialogue before so I should be able to reverse engineer that.

Not bad for a first mod! Yes, unfortunately Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3 do have limitations when it comes to animations, so we'll just have to deal with that. Hopefully it changes in Fallout 4. Anyway, I would recommend you change your links to hyper-links in your description, since I don't think everybody wants to copy and paste the link all the time. Anyways, keep up the good work! Will endorse when I can.

Whoops! Not used to using URLs on the Nexus. I assumed it would automatically hyperlink. Derp. I'm on my phone right now but I'll fix that and some spelling problems.

And this is technically my third or fourth mod, I'm too scared to upload the others haha They need a bit of work. I'll fix one of them soon and upload, it's a full quest and pretty decent if I'm permitted to brag a bit haha

      Thanks for the support mate!

EDIT: I can't figure out how to hyperlink haha

First, sorry for the late response.

Second, haha that's okay. Not that big of a deal. I could explain it to ya, but there is quite a chance you wouldn't know it any better afterwards, simply because I'm bad at explaining stuff. Maybe we could make a gun sometime, I made a mod a while ago, and I want to make a new one, but I'm out of ideas and I'm not that good with nifskope/blender.

      Hey late responses are cool!

I actually figured out how the whole hyperlinking thing works and linked everything I needed. I just found a quick/cheap/dirty weapon mod/nif idea a few seconds ago so I'm going to be possibly putting that thing out soon unless it's already on the Nexus, but I'm definitely down to make a gun with you! I really only know NifSkope so far, and with my possible admittance into grad school soon I likely won't be able to push out any more mods or learn more programs haha Kinda scared of Blender

I'm in the middle of putzing about with my old New Vegas files to make a clean install for modernization, basically, of my New Vegas install since the last time I played is about a year and a half ago I think.

I really like the idea of this mod, particularly the fact that you considered the rifle to need a specific subset of ammo.

A few tips, if you don't mind.
    1) You may want to make it work with whatever mod is most popular that adds a bunch of ammo types. Pulse Slugs and such are a game changer for shotgun users.
    2) The pictures make it seem that there's a choke. This is bad for obvious reasons.
    3) Since the weapon is themed, I can understand not wanting to change the model much. However, if you'd like, you should consider basic upgrades that you can craft yourself using junk and misc items that would increase the durability by coating components with a more durable finish than blueing, change the furniture to reduce weight and seem to be more comfortable (Maybe a stock with an adjustable cheek pad to adjust your cheek weld?), and cut the barrel down to be flush with the magazine tube so that slugs are more accurate and the gun "turns better in the hand." Typical stuff a gun owner may want to do. That gun's barrel is a little long, for slugs (for which barrel stiffness is a better asset for accuracy than the less-important-up-to-a-certain-point increase in velocity that a long barrel gives) the optimal barrel length is 18 inches or slightly longer.
    4) You may want to consider moving the scope forward and using a mount as well as a scope that is smaller overall while still providing a large eye relief. A graduated 1x30 or one with low magnification, which would be much better than a high powered rifle scope, would be much better suited to the ranges such a shotgun would be used at. One reason for that would be that magnification can definitely be "too much of a good thing," particularly when dealing with a gun that has a short range and a shitload of drop.

Good luck, I look forward to seeing what else you make.

Hey d3v14nt13 thanks for the constructive feedback and ideas!
      Lets see:
      1. I don't really use any other mod that expands on ammo. This mod already uses GRA because of Pulse Slugs, it seemed silly not to include them. Do you have any recommendations for extra ammo mods to add support for? I can definitely look into it.
      2. That is something that I must have missed. Looks like another update is required... I'm a pretty gun-savvy guy I don't know how I missed that.
      3. I've been thinking of mods. I'm thinking of introducing the vanilla expanded tube mod, but I will look for ways to implement these. A shortened barrel could probably be easily done Nif-wise. A cheek pad might be harder, I'll have to look through my files.
      4. I have been considering moving the scope forward, it is too far back. I need to pull out my Dad's gun and have a look at it. I'm currently working with vanilla resources so finding a rail mount is a little hard. I have an outside resource I'm using for the requested red dot version that uses a rail but I'm currently waiting to hear back from the original author for permission.

Version 1.1 is up! The scope is now big and beautiful, and a charging handle has been added. I'm working on making a non-GRA version and a red dot version. Unfortunately I can't get the red dot working :/ If I do then I'll get things going again.

I'm also tweaking an old mod and will release it soonish!

EDIT: The red dot has been perfected but I had to use someone else's resource so I'm waiting and hoping for permission.

My other mod was JUST released. Find it in the description!

Hmm probably not. Are we just talking an AimPoint red dot or an actual scope?

Well in my area in MD it's hard to hunt with a serious long rifle because of development and the risk a serious cartridge poses range-wise. A shotgun slug won't go nearly as far as a 308 but does as much, if not more, damage. So it's common for people to get rifled barrels put on their shotguns and use slugs to hunt. When you do this you put a deer/turkey/whatever you're hunting down easier. Does that answer your question?

You know...real shotguns shoot farther than 2 feet, not like the gaming counterparts.

Haha yes that as well. The Model 1100 this mod is inspired by reaches across fields with the right slugs in the tube and operator behind the scope.

In some states using a actual Hunting Rifle is Illegal so hunters have to use Shotguns or Bows and normal Shotgun Sights are not really meant to be used with Slugs.

Here in Frederick, MD I recall that it's illegal to use long rifles south of the major highway, only shotguns or bows allowed.
