Is that rocks that are meant for throwing, or the act of throwing rocks?  Actually, it's both!  Now you can pick up and throw rocks as a weapon.
Inspired by Improved Throwing's debris weapon.
Goes great with Dust Survival Simulator.

Description:

This small mod adds the ability to collect and throw rocks.  These rocks are available in large and small sizes, and make a good low level throwing weapon or stealth distraction tool.  The big rocks do more damage, but weight more and can't be thrown as far.  The small rocks do less damage, but weigh less and can be thrown farther.  Both sizes can be collected around any campfire.  Just activate the fire and "craft" some rocks.  You need 15 survival to find small rocks, 20 to find big rocks.  The rocks CAN be picked back up after being thrown.

This mod was originally created to be used alongside Dust due to the scarcity of ranged weapons, but works great without Dust too.

Compatibility:

This mod edits no vanilla items, so it should be compatible with nearly everything.

Known Bugs/Issues:

  • Since the rocks are obtained through a campfire recipe, they can also be obtained from a Dead Money hotplate or other campfire equivalent.  The fire has to be outside to collect rocks, but I don't know how to check if it's really a campfire.  Just don't try to pull rocks out of your hotplates, and you'll be alright.

  • The damage values may not be perfectly balanced, but at least they shouldn't be OP.

  • Sometimes the rocks clip through the player's hand, or just look a little off.  the position of the player's hand is intended for holding something thinner, so there's not much I can do.
