Finally someone made this. Endorsed. the only suggestion i can think of it would be to make it so you can join an already going caravan in, say, novac (maybe set up another caravan office there). this would make the game even more immersive and a real good way to completely avoid fast travel.
I usually just walk with a caravan that is passing by if I need to go somewhere and i'm low level and could use someone to sell me crap too. But yeah that would be a pretty damn cool mod, getting that post-apocalyptic courier feel. After all your suppose to be a courier and all and yet there is very little "couriering" in the game.
This mod alters navmeshes according to FNVEdit which makes it incompatible with Improved AI (Navmesh Overhaul Mod). The author of said mod says if your mod alters navmeshes you should make it an .esm not .esp, otherwise, even without his mod it can cause pathfinding issues and game breaking bugs. For that reason I'll be uninstalling, but feel free to give a shout if you ever decide to update the mod to an .esm!
Where the hell is Chad? I swear I did one mission for Grizzly and made sure he survived, then I completely forgot about this mod because I have 200 other mods plus I was doing the DLC. Just came back to the Grizzly Caravan office and Chad is nowhere to be found.
I removed the mod then reinstalled it, Chad is back! I talked to him, said gotta wait a few days for a job. Right after I talk to him I make a save while inside Grizzly Caravan building. Then a few seconds later he disappears! POOF! One second he's sitting on the couch, the next second he vanishes! Is that normal?
For me the mod just doesn't work the guy in the brahmin pen won't talk to me and inside the grizzly caravans office is just a sharecropper house so I can't join a caravan :(
The mod is great! The trips are kind of long but it’s still worth it. my vegas game crashes whenever it feels like but that’s unrelated to this mod, not sure how to fix that.
Works well. Its fun and immersive. You might wanna try an add on mod that changes the caravan employees faces in the mod to make it pop further. as the vanilla faces of the characters of the mod are kinda bland. https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/77070
Also I have only completed the trip a few times successfully, but I’m not sure if it only has one path to take to Mojave outpost and back, it would be pretty awesome if it went to random or other areas or another merchant had that course in the barracks
Caravan leader got killed, that guy Chad, and now I can't get another job as caravan guard? I need to speak with Chad for a new caravan tour, but he is dead...?
You can use the console to resurrect him. If you know where his corpse is, open the console, click on his corpse and enter the following commands in the console:
disable enable resurrect
If you don't know where his corpse is, load an earlier save where Chad is nearby, open the console and click on him. It should give you his name and a number. Write down the number and load your most recent save. Then enter the following commands in the console:
prid THAT-NUMBER-YOU-WROTE-DOWN moveto player disable enable resurrect
Using the console will disable achievements, so I'd install this mod before resurrecting him: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/59133
Also, according to the mod author you can use the terminal inside the Grizzly Caravans Office (Image 4) to set the caravan leader as essential. That way he won't die again in the future.
Live Dismemberment goes well along with this mod. Chad got his arms torn off by nightstalker, but kept going like a pro. Made it almost to Novac before he keeled over and died. Man, I would have loved to take more jobs for armless Chad.
