First - even AK-47 would be Stgw.44 clone by some ways Second - Czechoslovakia had pretty long history of gun design and making, even semi-auto and full auto ones. Vz.58 is completely different design than AK-47 and at the beginning it wasn't even supposed to use the same cartridge - Czechoslovakia had it own "middle" power cartridge. Third - in real life it works. Tested by tens of thousands men who made it through mandatory military service since it adoption into czechoslovak army, various insurgents over the world, where it was sent as a "brotherhood" aid and sportsmen, who can now buy semi-auto versions. It is no worse than AK.
As mentioned before by deRuyter, it is indeed different design from classic Kalashnikov, including operating mechanism. While it looks similar, it shares absolutely NO parts with AK-47, including magazines, and it was designed solely by czechoslovakian people-it was intended to fire entirelly different ammunition in first parts of design, but it was adapted to 7.62x39mm when it was accepted as standart ammunition of Warsaw Pact. Czechoslovakia was, by the way, only country which didn't use AK-47 or its clones, but used its own rifle as standart armament. Also, parts were manufactured differently. While Kalashnikov parts were mostly pressed, which was cheap, parts for Samopal vzor 58(current czech name) were machined. While it was more expensive than pressing, it also led to slightly increased accuary over AK and it also proved VZ58 to be very, very reliable-even today Czech and Slovak armies have these in active service with very low rate of failure. But enough of this rambling, as Czech myself, i simply have to download it ant try it

Dear Stronglav, I haven't ever heard that russian/soviet army were armed with "Sa vz. 58" besides AK series ... so, your brother has hardly anything to say about the thing. Btw. my father, brother, quite a few relatives and friends went through military service in either former czechoslovak or later czech or slovak army and were issued this gun. None of them was speaking about any "junk". Lot of people want to buy a good gun - so they buy "Sa. vz. 58" and they know why.
And I am quite happy, that it made it to Fallout world
@Stronglav Your argument from authority (my brother is XY, therefore I am equally qualified) is a logical fallacy. Besides, that fact alone is irrelevant. Half of my family history is closely tied to the army service as well, but that does not make me an weapons expert.
Have *you* served in the army? Held a real weapon in your hands? An AK or even the vz. 58? Maintained them? Used and compared them either in combat or on the firing range?
Please refrain from posting uninformed junk and stick to downloading mods and weapons. Like this one.
That's the thing about the internet, unlike the old days when false facts and claims could easily be made; today anyone can search for the truth themselves with a few button clicks. What you heard from your second cousins brothers friend doesn't work anymore sorry. The internet has brought about a new age of enlightenment where almost anything can be known by anyone. Be careful of what you claim and try to remember to cite your information whenever possible.
Yes I have served.I shot from AK's and Galil and M16's and from this one too.So... Im not gonna argue anymore. Its pointless.I dont care about the TTX of the weapon because its only important how it behaves in real combat. Unfortynatly I have seen some of that too.

You do realize that nobody believe you right now, do you? Let that remind you that you shouldn't judge too quickly and harshly, because there will always be somebody who know something important that you do not-and is capable of making you look like an ass if he's offended by harsh behavior.
All assault rifles are clones of the most glorious assasult rifle, StG 44. BAR was there before that, BUT it is debtable if it is even assault rifle, i would call it LMG. Stop recomending people AK, it is cheap weapon of terrorists, it is no way that reliable as everyone thinks and it is not that accurate.
Hi. I know it's too late but I love czech weapons since I was born there my self. This vz58 is awesome and I realy want to go through my whole playthrough with it. But the problem is I can't find enough ammo with caliber x version ????
I know this sounds like an odd request, but would you mind making a semi-automatic version of this? Possibly just add it in the chest as a separate item or something. Otherwise, I really like the mods, and I really love this gun.
Mesh and textures are beautiful and the bolt animation works flawlessly. Thank you so much for making this firearm! Now I have another use for all the 7.62x39mm ammo in my stockpile.
Am I the only one having issues with the Heffy animations? I know all the .nifs are correct, but in-game the bolt and magazine are stationary. Not sure what if anything I screwed up - taking a look at Heffy's pack to double-check what anims his KalashniKlones use, but don't think that's the issue.
