Take a journey to the distant city of New York as you encounter the new worldspaces, factions and enemies that inhabit the once glorious metropolis.
The Story:
Several months before the story of the Courier, the NCR establishes and Eastern chapter composed mainly of Mercenaries, NCR personnel and citizens willing to help fortify the republic. As the expedition takes place, tensions rise with the Legion back at Hoover Dam. Radio contact is lost with the Eastern chapter somewhere around the outskirts of the Old World city of New York. With only a small band of Troopers returning to the Mojave, the squad leader explains that the expedition is still live and operating, but suffering heavy casualties and requests the aid of more brave souls. Returning to the present, The Courier is offered the chance to explore the cities of New York, Newark and Jersey City and help re-establish contact with the expedition members lost within the city. Help the NCR reclaim their influence over the region while taking in the local atmosphere of each world space.

Relations with the NCR and Enclave share no effect on this mission as all factions are treated in their own separate fashion. This mod introduces weapons from previous games, an atmosphere similar to Fallout 3, an immersive storyline and unique factions domestic to the New York-New Jersey Region

Announcement!
This mod is NOT DEAD! I've just experienced several major issues I've had to deal with since the last update. Progress is being made, but I just want to make a few announcements.
I'd like to thank everyone for their support of this mod as its been a dream of mine to share this with all of you. Over 1000 endorsements, I can't thank you guys enough! But there are some things I want some of you to understand...
I am a 1-man team, majority of this work is done during the very little available time I have. I do not have time to address everyone's issues with the mod.
I know there are several crashes that will occur during the current release, but that is to be expected of a modded Bethesda Game. Please bear with me and save often! I try to fix all the issues that I come across. Recently my hard drive failed, so a lot of the work that had been made since the last release is lost. I was able to recover a decent amount, but there are still some bits that I will not be able to access. So progress will be made, but the next release date is TBD. Thank you all for understanding!

The Lore:

Enclave Remnants:
After the destruction of Ravens Rock, the Enclave found themselves looking for a new home. Pre-War records indicated a large military institution within the NYC region, yet the base's location was corrupted within the file. The Enclave forces that escaped fled north to NYC where they established an outpost, beginning their search this military base at any means necessary.

Enclave Renegades:
With the Enclave scattered, many soldiers began to realize the corruption and immoral nature of their faction. Those few soldiers that were still dedicated to upholding  the American ideals of Democracy and Freedom lead a coup; although unsuccessful, they were able to split from the faction and escape further into the city. The Renegades ally themselves with the wastelanders, and any faction that is set on protecting the innocent and weak.

NE Brotherhood:
During  the Brotherhoods first attempts at a transcontinental voyage, their group became scattered. Of the several airships that traveled east, one was cut off course and landed in western Pennsylvania. These survivors eventually made their way to the Hudson River, discovering the ruins of NYC and Jersey City. There encounters with the Red Line created tensions, yet they found friends with the Polis Rangers and Enclave Renegades; although their allegiance was loose, the Brotherhood provided support in return for technology found within the city.

Red Line Station:
The descendants of Chinese spies and Russian Communists, the Red Line preaches the ideals of Communism. They are extremely aggressive and do not treat their enemies with mercy. They are at war with the Polis Rangers and will engage in combat with anyone who attempts to hinder their plans.

Polis Rangers:
The descendants of NYPD, FDNY, National Guard and Military personal, the Polis Rangers are a militaristic democracy that has established itself in the Metro tunnels of NYC. They are in a never ending battle with the Red Line, yet  they go out of their way to protect wastelanders and travelers alike.

NCR Expedition:
Seemingly out of place, the NCR had received word of a military institution from the records discovered within Big MT. With this info, they established a convoy that set up an outpost within the northern tip of NYC. After months of radio silence, the NCR established a 2nd expedition in order to discover the fate of the original team.

The History of the Empire Wasteland
Some time after WWII, the United States was divided into 13 commonwealths, alongside a Federal government. During this time, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware and West Virginia formed the Eastern Commonwealth. With the exchange of nuclear weapons between the European Commonwealth and the Middle East, the US needed to defend its energy resources. Front Lines were established in Alaska to protect the last remaining crude oil fields in US control. In the same context, the Eastern Commonwealth established a strong Anti-Terrorism/Nuclear Deterrent commission to defend Pennsylvania's natural gas reservoirs. As a result, Large cities within the Commonwealth established strong Nuclear Defense systems, resulting in the survival of many large cities such as Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Newark. When the Great War began, NYC appeared doomed. But thanks to the defense system financed by the Commonwealth, the region was generally well prepared for the attack. Most warheads were destroyed before entering a range where it could do much harm. The ones that were able to hit the city inflicted little damage due to the massive size of the city's structures, which absorbed most of the impact. However, in a city of such massive population, only 1 Vault was constructed, designed to house 5,000 residents out of a city close to 18 million. Thankfully, the city's expansive Metro system provided the less fortunate with a safe haven. As many of the streets began to flood with rubble and radiation, survivors began to settle deeper and deeper into the Metro. It wasn't until 2103 did the survivors begin to resettle the surface, around the same time when Vault 24 opened. Although the Vault opened after 30 years, many residents decided to live in the Vault, forming the first legitimate colony in the underground. Significantly better off than most of the other survivors, the Vault dwellers made contact with several smaller communities in the metro. Composed of mainly NYPD, NYFD, National Guard and Port Authority officers, the communities had a relatively powerful defense. This led to the formation of the Federation of Metro Colonies. For the first few decades after Vault 24's opening, there was peace. But around 2198, a new conflict arose. 3 distinctive factions began to form; the Polis Federation of Metro Rangers was the first. Around the same time, a sleeper cell of Chinese and Soviet Agents arose within the Metro. Unable to complete their objective before the war, their remnants formed a small colony based on Stalin's view of communism (military dictatorship with little individual privileged... The ruler's word is law) for the first few years, the colony of Metrograd cooperated with the Federation. However, an armed revolt caused the Federation to take action. They forced the new group called the Red-Line to the furthest edge of the city; however, they lost 2 stations to the battle and ultimately trapped the residents of Vault 24 between the region known as the Great Expanse, a portion of tunnels where the Red Line and Rangers fight a war of attrition. The Vault soon became under occupation of the Red Line, who denied any aid the Rangers attempted to send their people. Only caravans were allowed to enter, and anyone deemed unworthy of entry would be shot. At the same time, several gangs were established, 1 that was present throughout the NY-NJ region, and 2 domestic to NJ. Soon, more people began to settle on the surface. Polis established a power plant directly above its Metro station and many smaller groups formed communities under the rubble of overpasses and within the abandoned skyscrapers. At this same time, a group calling themselves the Brotherhood made contact first with the Red Line, who attempted to detain them and claim their "Power Armor." Though scattered from their now Mid-Western faction, the group was more prepared than the Red Line, ultimately defeating a small group of Red Line soldiers and escaping further into the Metro, where they met the Rangers. There, the Brotherhood found allies with the Democratic and military supportive faction and vowed to aid them in their survival...as long as the Rangers help them to unlock the technological secrets of the region. The Brotherhood still aids the Rangers, yet most of their faction lies in the rubble of the Newark industrial sector. In 2282, a new group only known as the New California Republic, or more simply the NCR, entered the city with the same objective as the Brotherhood. It would not be until The Courier's arrival that conflict would reach its climax, and it is up to them to help bring order to this chaotic wasteland.

Without this, you're game will most likely crash consistently.

Known Bugs and Errors:
-It has been noted several times that upon a player's first entrance to Polis, or simply anyone entering Polis, that the game will crash upon loading. As of now, the only fix is to use 4GB New Vegas. Players who do not start their game with 4GB New Vegas can still play the mod, but they will most likely experience crashes and lag when entering the city. ALWAYS SAVE BEFORE ENTERING POLIS. you have been warned.
