Q: WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ENB VERSION?
A: Support has been dropped as the fixes were obselete, the main file will look good enough with most ENBs out there anyway, I may or may not try and script per weather ENB support one day for RWLE, depends. However, the main file will work just fine with ENB, just a few small fixes are missing
Q: Can you make versions for just some of the DLC? I only own a few of them and want RWL weather there.
A: Nope, I'm not making 4 optional files, either buy all the DLC or don't. It's a very old title anyway, get it cheap on GoG or on a steam sale.
Q: What weathers does this have? does it have rain?
A: Various clear variants with different clouds, hazy, dusty, overcast and special DLC weathers. Rain is only in Honest Hearts like in vanilla.
Q: Does this touch interior lighting, will it work with interior lighting overhaul?
A: Nope it doesn't touch interiors and yes it will work with ILO, load RWL after it
----PLEASE READ!---- or at least read the short version at the bottom
Sal203 here. I'm glad to see so many people are enjoying the mod! That said, I am disappointed to see so many error reports. I'd like to take a bit to speak about them.
When I started work on RWL a bit over a year ago, it was as a personal use mod. I released it more or less on a whim, but my area of expertise was then, and remains, sound design. That I was able to put this mod together at all surprises me in all honesty; I barely knew what FNVedit was when Camo came on board some months ago. I have done what I can though; I've tested RWL for more than 500 hours on my own, Camo has put in countless hours himself, but many of the issues reported here have yet to be replicated by either of us. Since I cannot replicate most of the issues reported, I have little ability to pinpoint their causes, I can only note that people are having them. I do not know why it is that so many are experiencing issues that did not crop up during the extensive testing Camo and I conducted.
Additionally, modding is a sideline for me; I've never maintained a strong presence here on the Nexus and I'm busier now than I was even a few months ago. On top of that, Camo and I live on opposite ends of the earth; coordinating to get this release of the mod out alone was a grueling, arduous process, and as things are now, resuming working on RWL to the extent we once did would be more or less impossible.
THE SHORT VERSION: I know the mod has issues, and I wish I could fix them, but I don't have the time and likely don't have the skill either. I wish that wasn't the case, and perhaps it someday won't be, but in all likelihood, the mod won't receive more updates from me aside from perhaps a minor texture upgrade that I put together a while back. RoyBatterian does still have a TTW version on the way though.
Thanks to help from Yukichigai and RoyBatterian, it looks like some of the mod's issues have been resolved, notably the "white out" bug. An updated version of the mod that includes their fixes has been uploaded, and it includes changes to improve the mod's textures as well. Check the screenshots for the changes.
I've dropped support for the ENB version, but the tweaks in the main file should make ENB acceptable to use out of the box, improved scripted ENB support will be seen in RWLE at a later date
-Minor cleanup and fixes, should be final now. And for future questions regarding the upcoming version of TTW (3.0) Yes this mod is fully ready and built with those fixes integrated
LOAD THE MOD VERY LAST IN YOUR LOAD ORDER, RUN LOOT FIRST IF YOU USE IT, THEN MANUALLY PUT RWL AT THE VERY BOTTOM AFTER MERGED AND BASHED PATCHES. VERY LAST, I'M SICK OF SAYING THIS
IT'S COME TO MY ATTENTION FROM PEOPLE REPORTING THE "WHITEOUT" BUG THAT ACTUALLY POSTED LOAD ORDER AS WELL, THAT THEY HAD MODS THAT ADDED OR EDITED CELLS IN FREESIDE, THE STRIP ETC, AND REMOVING THEM SOLVED THE ISSUE - LOADING RWL LAST SHOULD FIX MOST OF THESE ISSUES BUT SOMETIMES A PATCH WILL BE NECESSARY, I WILL NOT BE MAKING A PATCH FOR EVERY MOD OUT THERE SO PLEASE LEARN TO USE xEdit / FNVEdit AND FIX ANY CONFLICTS YOURSELF.
ALSO TRY WAITING A FEW HOURS IN GAME IF YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES
v5.542 update is out now for Tale of Two Wastelands v3.2
Edit: New Vegas All DLC versions and No DLC versions of the new update are now available
v5.542 -Removed blur remover integration in TTW RWL, use "Motion Sickness Destroyer" by tgspy from now on -New Vegas all DLC and no DLC versions -Minor cleanup for TTW RWL -Updated DCStreet patch for TTW RWL
v5.541 -Fixed washed out ground further -Fixed weird weather on Zion entry -Fixed clear weathers during scripted events
v5.54 -Updated for Tale of Wastelands v3.2 -Fixed dull Vegas strip lights at night -Improved Honest Hearts washed out ground -Increased brightness of brighter night patch -Added black and white tranquility lane patch -Misc fixes
I just DL this mod and the TTW 3.2 patch (which I using it for) it says I don't have the DCStreet master file for the plugin, is anyone else having this issue?
I have the whiteout bug in Freeside. All colors are washed out, screen is almost white. RWL is last in the load order. Waiting for one hour fixed the issue instantly. Don't know if this will be permanent however.
It reappears every time I enter the Hidden Valley but everything goes back to normal when I fast travel to any other location. Besides FNV RWL, Interior Lighting Overhaul, Asurah Reanimation Pack and Solid Project I don't have any other mods for NV installed. I could replicate this error even when FNV is the only mod I have. I installed it manually while .esp plugin was activated via the latest version (github one) of NMM.
There's a force weather there for the hidden valley script, but it's replaced with RWL weather. You could have a mod overwriting the fix, I just tested it now and it's correctly forcing the clear RWL weather on both DLC and No DLC versions.
Check with xEdit if anything is overwriting the "NVWastelandClear" and "HVDustStorm" weathers in RWL.
Load it very last.
Please try just RWL and no mods and "coc hidden valley" then walk away and come back there.
Could you send your save right where it happens also?
Geez I'm so dumb. I thought I had the RWL .esp put on the bottom of my load order but that was its 'brighter nights' plugin instead (the main plugin was located somewhere at the very top). Everything works fine now. Thank you guys for the fast and informative reply and sorry for the trouble.
I feel really stupid for this but, can someone help me get this to run last please? No matter what I do, it comes up in the middle of the load order. When I try to load it after something at the end of the load order, it just moves that plugin to just before it.
I gratefully appreciate the creation of this mod and what it accomplished... 😣BUT GODAMN! CAN WE ATLEAST PUT UP THE BRIGHTNESS ON THE NIGHT TIME PLS! I know it says "Realistic wasteland lighting" but holy s#*! bro, I want the nighttime to atleast be PLAYABLE. Do you rlly think I like to shot in the fvcking head out of nowhere in the pitch.dark. ass.night???(The moon reflects the sun's light you know!)
Im not sure how this modding stuff works but pls bro... all Im asking for is a file of this mod that doesn't touch the nighttime or something similar to vanilla night brightness. Thank you very much.
*I'm playing on Tale of Two Wastelands* Edit: I realized there is a brighter nights file and YES i did download and used it. it just doesn't rlly anything at all.
Im not sure if its a bug or on my behalf, but when entering westside it has 100% brightness, only inside westside making it unplayable in westside, i unticked wasteland lighting and now the brightness is normal in westside. I didnt start a new save, so mby therefor but idk
Been trying to get RWL and ILO to work with my game for a bit, they work just fine when I use the game's default resolution recommendation. But when switching to my preferred resolution of 1920x1080, textures on armor, guns, and around the environment are turned to complete black, the skybox starts moving around following where I'm looking. I'll eventually crash and can no longer load that save. Dunno if this has been encountered before or a potential fix to it?
Just adding a comment here for myself because I know I'll come back in a couple of years after reinstalling for the 20th time and not remember why this is in the downloads history. Weather features are cool, although it feels pretty bright and cartoony on most days. For someone that's rather into a dreary melancholic feel of this game, the mod is more of an occasional flavour rather than a permanent installation.
Edit: Added a screenshot collage to the images tab to show what I mean. Definitely not for everyone but hey, most people like it.
Edit 2: Yes, it works fine in this day and age, on top of a pile of other mods.
I would recommend AGAINST this mod currently as, despite it being the most popular, this whiteout bug no matter what I and others do persists.
They claim to load it as last in load order, it does not work at all and this mod hasn't been touched in 5 years. Safe to say that as it stands, the mod is bugged and will blind you in certain locations you enter such as McCarran.
This mod works perfectly and I've been using it since 2020. It's inexperienced people installing 10s of hundreds of mods expecting this to work alongside them, not paying attention to load orders, merged plugins, edits or patches.
It works great on TTW 3.3.2. and I lliterally have 150 other mods. Just DON'T use with other weather mods, all weather mods conflict. And for the love of christ order your own load don't rely on LOOT or old guides.
loading it very last has worked on the DC wasteland, every F3 DLC, mojave and every NV DLC, I even still have the Hidden valley Sandstorm Effect, darker nights work and the longer transitions work like a charm.
This, along Vibrance Reshade and NVR, New vegas looks great for a vanilla run. It even runs with Wastelands LIghts, Nevada Skies is still better for visuals.
Hell It even works on Alton Il, it defaults to DC weather.
I have used this for years and not ONCE seen the whiteout bug. The mod hasn't been touched in a while because there is nothing to touch! With tweaking on your part it looks fabulous. No...the mod is not bugged, might want to look over your setup...at 41000 endorsements this mod ain't bugged ;)
This mod still holds up quite well after all these years, even more so now that General Lighting Overhaul is out to supplement it. Most of the time when someone posts about a white out bug, it is a skill issue in regards to load order placement. Either that, or a patch is required. Nothing wrong with the mod itself.

Try a new save with no mods because things can get baked into your save file.

Use an item that has Night Vision or Cateye, or download the brighter nights version.
