If you are tired of doing Alex's quest & just want the virus just type "player.addperk blacklightplayer" & that will give the perk without the quest. But you do need to also type "player.additem alexweapdeathclawgauntletplayer 1" if you also want the claw.
I was reading Cbrando's comment and I noticed he was talking about a book that was on this mod, and I was suprised to know this. Where can I get this book? Also, can't figure out how to get the agro thing to happen with the talking or whatever where I can get the Blacklight. Don't feel like going to Mortimer to do that
As far as I'm aware, I didn't write any books in this mod? Unless you're talking about fanfiction, in which I have written an Alex in Fallout fic that does not necessarily follow this mod, but is close enough.
As for Mortimer - you have to sneak up on him with Ted while he's giving his speech, then talk to him and oust him in front of everyone. When he starts to run away, Mercer will go up to you, and you can order him to stand down or give him his dinner.
I'm still confused, and for some reason, I'm still confused on if I should anger him somehow, or serve Mercer to Mortimer. And what I'm confused about, is which Ted? Is there a Ted in the mod that you added, or Ted Gunderson, and how would I get him to talk to Mortimer? Sorry about all the questions, I just have a really thick head sometimes. Lol
Ted Gunderson is the kid about to be served to the WGS. Free him and use him to ruin Mortimer's plans - it's the 'good' way to do the quest.
To get Blacklight, unlock and then complete Alex's loyalty quest. A good start would be to destroy the spores in V22, talk to him about Dana and be nice, listen to his loyalty 2 thing, be nice, listen to his loyalty 3 thing, be nice. There are other ways to gain more loyalty, like completing WGS the 'good' way and helping Boone get his revenge on whats-her-name for selling his wife, or go to Repconn HQ and talk to him inside (he'll initiate the conversation). By this point, you can ask him about what he is, and he'll actually answer you. Be nice, and that'll get you to 5 loyalty, unlocking the final loyalty topic. Go through that and it unlocks his quest.
Also, sorry about making another comment, but where exactly are the spores? And I'm assuming 2-1 is V22? And, sorry about this question, what exactly is the ID of the Biomass Residue?
Hey is it possible this mod will get voice acting and if Mercer will get his armour,blade,whip fist,and Hammerfist. This mod looks cool and Alex Mercer is my favorite character above any character. I would love to see that,and you did a great job keep it up.
Uh, let's see... been a while. The Follower's fort in freeside is definitely one, and I think Goodsprings Cemetery is another. A message will pop up once you're in range, although you might need to move forward a little more to bring Alex close enough so that he's in range, too.
There's a third. I think it's an NCR place - McCarran, maybe?
For the other route, it's Caesar's Fort, Vault 3, and also Goodsprings Cemetery. I think. Like I said, it's been a long time.
Well, since I've now made it so that becoming Blacklight is obtainable beyond this secret-ish solution;
The trick to getting a pair of claws was to kill Alex. You had to make him Furious, which was possible by either gradually pissing him off, or offering him to Mortimer and then picking a certain dialogue option when he confronts you about it. If you can kill him, he drops Biomass Residue - from here, you can choose to be incredibly stupid and eat it (but then again, we're player characters - why wouldn't we?). This would eventually infect you with Blacklight, which automatically grants you a claw.
Very niche, although I was hoping somebody would figure it out.
This is a glitch, actually; one that I have no idea how to fix. I specifically created a new armor texture and item for the Alex gauntlet and left the original unchanged, and in the CS, the original looks like a normal gauntlet, but in the game, normal gauntlets look like Alex's claw. That has me stumped and it's not gamebreaking, so I just left it.
