well, try add M16 Family front sights, cocking handle, and change the hand guard to one like the Assault Carbine, the Magazine Curvature is somewhat correct, but still weird like the assault carbine ext. mags, make it look more like a M16A2/A3 and instead of keeping the gun into vanilla mods, add a "modernization Kit" mod like dead money BAR, or like the cyberdog gun from owb, add to the workbench, using the gun and some materials, you could upgrade the "service rifle" into the "M16A2", and further specialize the gun from there adding High barrel upgrade for accuracy, modern carry handle for scope attatchment, or simply use scope rail mount on the gun carry handle, those are some ideas i am giving you, may even add a quest-line to it, "the patriot" where you run around the wasteland seeking recipes for the gun runners for service rifle upgrades qnd you learn to make them yourself, eventually, you get a really JACKED M16 Rifle, so upgraded the gun gets like, sick tacticool, silencers,aser sights and red dots for spec ops, or scopes, heavy barrels and extended barrels for sniping, or upgraded internal mechanisms, extended magazines and shorter barrels for assault, you could make several fittings for each upgrade trees. (i now just realized i got too much into that, how do i even mod, someone pls ??)
I like this mod too, but rifle seems bit too weak. It appears to be working since I have the 30 rnd. magazine , but even when my weapon is in 80 % condition DAM is only 12. It's not very accurate either, resulting in need to empty whole magazine to enemy. In this condition this mod makes weapon better and actually useable. And not that way useable that it would be overly powered compared to other weapons. Still I would like bit more power since I like the M16A1 model much better looking compared to assault carbine. I have to ask: in what conditions you can get that DAM 17? Do you need some skills or perks for it?
Don't know exactly how the number works in GECK, but it's probably 17 dmg at 100% condition and 100 gun skill, can't say for sure. The mod is not intended to make the service rifle a high-tier weapon, it's still a low/medium tier weapon. If I had made it better, I would be giving the NCR a buff, and thus changing the balance in the game.
Well can you make a more powerful version cause i downloaded the Caesar's Regime mod and coupled it with the NCR rearmament mod but the Guns that NCR troopers are carrying is totally being under gunned by guns and blades that the Legionnaires and Legion Combat elites and Juggernauts are carrying (12.77SMG, Shiskebab mk4''s brush guns, Gladius etc.,.) So a more powerful Service rifle would really balance things out Especially when you use the War zones mod. NCR VS Legion.
Redownload the mod, that way you can see which files you have to delete. The meshes will be in Data\Meshes\2handrifle (If I remember correctly), the esp will be in Data.
