Care to elaborate about this - "2. All Vanilla weapons can use their GRA counterpart's mods and ammunition." ...Some GRA variants of Vanilla weapons have more possible mod options, than their vanilla counterparts! In some cases only one mod exists in vanilla game, while GRA versions adds ability to get 2 or all 3! Does installing this means, that all the vanilla variants now will get the same amount of mods possible to be installed as their GRA counterparts or does it simply add ability to the upgrade with the same functionality, but tagged GRA instead of vanilla without adding more moddable upgrade slots to the vanilla weapons? If it's former, then this defeats the purpose of having GRA versions of said weapons on the first place, since the very reason they have been added to the game by the devs at all is to give them mod options, they never had on the first place in vanilla game! So by letting vanilla guns have now those options makes the entire GRA idea obsolete...i hope it's the latter though, but i need clarification before i install this!
Hey there! I recently installed this mod and I'd be glad to answer. I visited the Vendortron to see if it has weapons for sale and I noticed it sells duplicate weapons of the same type with the same price, E.G. the Vendortron sells 2 assault carbines at the same price. It's worth noting this mod removes the (GRA) tags so you don't know which is which. I also bought the match barrel for my hunting revolver which I got from Honest Hearts and suprisingly enough I can use the attachment for my gun.
So in conclusion this mod makes the vanilla guns use the GRA attachments, but he forgot or didn't bother to remove the duplicate GRA weapon counterparts from the shops.
Like i said before and i stand by it - it defeats the purpose of having GRA weapons on the first place, because the entire goal of that add-on was to give another version of that same weapon, that could be modified with weapon mods or that would have more weapons mods for it, than vanilla variant has! So by giving those mods to vanilla weapons, that GRA weapons have it makes the entire GRA pack obsolete (save for unique ones...) i don't see much point in it...
Battle Rifle still has a GRA tag. So is the Anti-Materiel rifle. I checked the Arms Merchant and the vendortron, their stock both have the named and unnamed variants. Perhaps the GRA tagged weapons are still in shop lists? edit: I think I found out how it works. I checked the GECK and everything is right, but I have the Improved Sound FX esp file which apparently also messes with some of the metadata. I rearranged the load order so that this mod loads last and it replaces what the ISFX esp changed, now it works. So far I havent encountered sound issues which is fortunate
Great mod so far. I specifically went through hidden valley and scorpion gulch to get to black rock cave where one of the nightkin there has an Assault carbine (vanilla). Then I bought a mod for an assault carbine at 188 trading post, but guess what, GRA grade mod..
This mod solves the problem of weapon mods not being compatible, removing a fairly big pain in my ass for a lot of playthroughs. I can't believe I've only found it now.
I don't know what it is this mod does, but I used to be able to use Gtab's ammo crafting and I could see all the different types of ammo I could break down and craft. This mod doesn't allow that, it seems, I can't see any of the different ammo types. I assume that has something to do with you removing the labels from the GRA items, but knowing the different varieties of ammunition, and being able to specifically craft the ones I want is pretty handy.
So I recently installed this mod and I noticed 2 things...
When I visited the Vendortron and check what it's got for sale, I noticed it sells duplicate weapons of the same type with same price. For example, it sells 2 assault carbines with the same price of around 6000 caps. Of course, since the GRA name tag is removed, you couldn't tell which one is the GRA counterpart. I'd suggest removing the GRA copies of the vanilla weapons since they're essentially obsolete due to the ability to use GRA attachments on vanilla versions.
The GRA nametag is still intact on challenges. An oversight, I'd say.
Thanks a lot! Previously I've tried both JSUE GRA Merged and the standalone GRA Merged mods and they didn't work. (I had a mod that said (Custom) at the end of its name and it didn't fit in my gun). But this works.
