That's not the case anymore, this mod works with xNVSE now. You just need to reinstall this mod after updating and redo the process in the readme where you remove the .DM from the XML files under menu/main and menu/prefab. I deleted the existing XML and removed the .DM off the other file to replace it and it worked again.
This mod appears to conflict with "UIO - User Interface Organizer", but adding UIO support to Dynamic Crosshair is simple. Just create a file "data\uio\public\DynamicCrosshair.txt" and enter the following two lines:
pnxhud.xml::HUDMainMenu true
I find installing it this way along with UIO to be simpler than the directions in the included Readme.
I installed this mod as it was said at ReadMe: added the needed string to the "hud_main_menu.xml" file and enabled the .esp file. But the crosshair itself doesn't appear at all! When I set .esp file to "disabled", original standing crosshair comes back. I have Darnified UI and mods compatible with them but you said they'd work. I also have Readius pip-boy mod, maybe that's the problem?
It really bothers me that crosshair is switched to default if using any melee weapons like super sledge but if you go unarmed it's back and reacts to movement & other modifiers for no reason. Would be extremely grateful if someone who knows what they're doing could tell me which lines to edit so modified crosshair would either disappear when I'm using ANY kind of close combat weapons or if it's easier to do would also stay if I'm using unarmed weapons
So this is kinda funny. I had a pretty heavy modded game with nmm. When i moved to vortex i decide to clean install just part of them, i was using this mod and worked perfectly. Now I only have 2 options: or the crosshair never shows up (not editting xml files) or it shows up always no matter what (editting xml files). I know i solved this because in my last playthrough i didn't have this problem, but I don't remember what I did :/. Anyways, I'm just gonna keep messing around so maybe i get the solution, but if anyone has an idea I would much apreciate to hear it
Edit: So idk wtf i just did but it works now, still if this mod doesnt work for you I've found a new one from this year here: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/65687?tab=posts&BH=0
I have a problem with my crosshair not showing up when I draw my weapon. I downloaded the mod using Vortex and it installed fine but it didn't show up in game. I use the mod that allows me to customize my hud if that helps btw. If anyone can help me let me know pls.
For those not using any UI mods and are having the "no crosshair" issue, just remove the "DM" part in the filenames of two files.
extension both hud_main_menu.xml.DM - located in \menus\main includes_HUDMainMenu.xml.DM - located in \menus\prefabs
Honestly, this mod is perfectly usable by novices, it's just that the mod author added that complication to prevent accidental overwriting of files that are important to UI mods and force people to read the readme. The problem is the instructions are wee bit unwieldly with images now missing.
I still appreciate the mod though, especially since I've opted to stop using PN.
