Heads up! This mod has been remade from the ground up as Free at Last - Free the Slaves Redux. So if you're interested in the concept, just head over there to get a reimplemented and modernized version of this mod.
gonna skip this one. It seems buggy and is very old. One thing tho... it is concerning that if you want to free the slaves, you have this old mod or one quest mod. But if you want to be a slaver, there are dozens different mods. Makes you feel concerned and actually sorry for most FNV players...
You actually CAN do this with the vanilla game, you just have to do it a very specific order (which escapes me at the moment). Once they're free, you have to escort them out of the camp (or kill everybody in the camp). I can't recall thier destination, but it's not too far.
It doesn't make the post any less dumb, sure... But it makes the person replying look dumb alongside the original poster, because they took time to post a reply to a message from years ago, solely for the purpose of swearing at that person.
Alright, I give up. If everyone's just gonna line up and go "ha ha I think that thing someone said several years ago is stupid!" with no other point, then I guess that's what we're gonna do.
Thinking it makes someone look stupid to reply to an old post because some internet cretinism culture tought you to think so, is, well.. I don't know how to say it... Pretty unwise, I'd say.
Mod has problem with some scripts through FNVedit. Hopefully you fix that. EDIT: those scripts I played through them and NPC fight with each other and they stuck on the gates and what not.
Seems very buggy. Freed slaves don't always head toward the exit point, are unreliable in arriving at the safe zones, and can attack each other for some reason.
Yeah, there's a scripting error that gets NPCs stuck on the gate heading out of that section of the fort. I'd post a patch, but the author hasn't logged into the Nexus since before I sent a PM asking for permission.
Personally, I'd appreciate it if you posted that patch even without permission. I really like the idea of this mod and I'd like to be able to get the full intended experience.
They didn't hate on New Vegas, they just didn't recognize it as one of their games because they didn't make it. Todd and the Bethesda team were extremely supportive of New Vegas and it's developers. Obsidian agreed to the short time frame, they've made this mistake before New Vegas came out (KOTOR 2?). Bethesda is bad, yeah, but have issues with them over things that exist.
Yes, Obsidian totally agreed to cut half of KOTOR 2 and New Vegas, obviously every self-respecting developer will always agree to be crunched to hell and have his works thrown into garbage because some corporation(Bethesda) wants to have a quick buck. Please login under your own name, Todd Howard.
KOTOR 2's time crunch imposed by LucasArts was unfair after looking into it, agreed, but Obsidian has stated that they agreed to Bethesda's time restriction, and that Bethesda was very helpful and encouraging during the development of New Vegas. According to what I've read from Avellone and Sawyer, Bethesda approached Obsidian first about the idea of a Western 3D Fallout and were very excited about the premise as well as being able to let the original writers work on a new project, not just looking for a quick buck.
