Hmm... Well, I kinda like the texture more on this side, but I'll think about it.
In the meantime, if you really want to, you can simply open the .nif file in NifSkope, find the pickaxe head node (all parts are clearly labeled), then look in the list at the bottom for the rotation line. Double click, and see which of the 3 axes get an 180 degree rotation to turn the blade around. IIRC it's either the one in the middle, or definitely it can be done by setting both the first and last to 180.
I am thoroughly enjoying this mod. One thing I might suggest is a alt version were the pointy end of the pick forward. Still this is what i consider a top notch mod.
The GECK has a nifty feature that lets you replace world objects with a click of a button. Under the edit drop down, "Find and replace." You could use this to replace all the useless static pickaxes in the world with this weapon, so players can find them while adventuring and not just with Chet.
New version is already up. Mostly it's fixing the mesh a little at the tips, but nothing game breaking. Also reduced the length of the head by about ten percent, since it looked a bit too humongous.

It's really even easier than it sounds.
Either way, I love it.
Anyways, speaking of pickaxes, would be neat if a Red Faction styled one could be made.
