Modding fallout new vegas on epic games is nearly impossible, since script extender is meant for the steam version, you can buy the steam version for cheap and transfer your save file from epic to steam if you want to easily mod the game, hope this helps!
Love when people ask for help with their problems that others may be experiencing too and when they figure it out on their own they have the awareness/kindness to share it with others /s
One work around I have found, I forgot I had a backup data set from playing around with dodgy mods. In it was an MCM file from August 2023. I put everything in and it works. If you have a pre-2024 data backup, you need to put the following items into FNV. Textures/MCM Menus/Prefabs/MCM and of course, the Mod Configuration Menu ESP
Having the same issue other people in this thread have been having for a little while now, MCM is properly installed and activated but it just doesn't show up in the pause menu. On steam deck and using Vortex, if anyone has advice yet.
Exact problem I've been having as well, I have mods installed that require it so it's not a case of nothing showing up because I don't need it, it just doesn't appear in the menu. I did have it working for a bit when I had Cosmetic Wardrobe installed, but the MCM menu interface was bugged out with it (text was overlapping and only Cosmetic Wardrobe and three other settings were showing up in the menu, even though I have several other mods that I know have MCM settings) so I had to uninstall that mod, but once it was uninstalled MCM just stopped showing up entirely for some reason. I'm also using Vortex, but I'm on desktop.
Might not be the same issue but I am on steam deck doing viva new Vegas using MO2 and was having this issue until I realized that MCM didn't actually install. It looked like it did but there was no data behind it. I saw Lidea's post about doing a manual install and now it works.
I'm assuming this is never gonna get addressed? I really with someone would lend a heling hand with all the new people coming to the game. With so many people having the same issue, I just don't get what broke it. I'm tried every trick in the book and have a number of mods currently installed that need it... but I just cant get the thing to show up and am completely out of ideas...
I'm using the "Begin Again Tale of Two Wastelands" modpack, so I'm not sure if this solution is only for that pack, but for me, the Mod Configuration Management option doesn't show on the ESC pause menu above the "Save" and "Load" buttons like the Images page shows, but instead it shows in the bottom center of the pause menu in a small, stylized "MCM" button.
Alternatively, open the ESC pause menu and the press the "M" button as that seems to be the default hotkey.
had this issue where it showed in NMM as being enabled but not showing in game, ended up checking the data files on the launcher and checked it off in that and it worked. not sure if this was just a me thing but I hope it helps.
Hello, I've installed this mod but for some reason it doesn't show up in the pause menu. Does anyone have any fixes to this problem? I'm relatively new to modding so let me know. fyi I use Vortex Mod Manager and I have the Steam version Of FNV.
To make the mod work (at least in MO2) make sure that you have not only checked the box in the left pane, but ALSO in the plugins pane on the right. For some reason it is not checked when installing the mod via the instructions provided in the Wasteland Survival guide. Works just fine now after that.
Probably was just an oversight on my part and wasn't a technical problem at all, but for MCM to actually work, you need to have mods downloaded that use it (FOV Slider as an example).
