Which one is better to use and has less problems?
This or Ultimate Invisible Wall Remover?

This one. Ultimate removes walls that stop you from going to places that would break the game. Essentially it doesn't discriminate. On the other hand, this one removes most invisible walls in the game but leaves ones that would break the game intact.

      @SiegfriedScott

Your comment answered my question and it also demonstrates that both mods are great for different people - I happen to love the freedom of Ultimate in that I'm able to see how broken I can get the game while still getting it to play but I totally understand why some people would prefer the stability.

Hoping for a Zion Trail patch as this idea is generally fantastic.

This mod does a fine job of removing the terrain borders that break immersion and keep you from exploring places that our limited climbing capabilities actually allow us to reach. All the while, it respects some other borders, like in those ruins on the outskirts of New Vegas that have piles of rubble which are reasonably easy to scale but are meant to keep us from hopping into areas that were only intended to be accessed via entry doors.

I tried a different mod that promised to do the same thing... a mod that actually allows you to scale that rubble and bypass the intended entry points. But there are consequences for doing that, such as disappearing loading doors. As far as I can tell, this mod was made with the avoidance of such instances in mind.

Although IWR may have been considered "deprecated" since it was merged into Operation Fixed Terrain v3+, that mod is no longer available. A Nexus forum search will uncover evidence of OFT3+ becoming [a part of] Mission Mojave Ultimate Edition, which is great... unless you've already used the YUP patch like I have. MMUE is a complex patch. One particular Nexus regular who calls himself "EvilOssie" had this to say, when the question arose about whether or not both patches could be used in tandem:

"Theoretically...yes, mostly. In the real world, however, using multiple broad-ranging 'fix' patches is not recommended as too often the patches end up conflicting with each other on multiple fixes. Choose one or the other...I personally prefer this one, but that's just me."

In my case, I've already played FNV close to a hundred hours with the YUP patch installed. I'm not about to switch patches and start over from scratch. Fortunately, tunaisafish has been considerate enough to leave this border remover available to the Nexus community, for which I am very grateful.

If you find yourselves in a similar situation... all patched up w/ YUP and finally fed up with immersion-killing invisi-borders, give this a try and be sure to give tunaisafish some kudos for keeping it available.

The Mojave lives on. Enjoy the vistas!

I know this is pretty old by this point. Regardless, I'd like to express how thankful I am that someone took the time and effort to completely explain the situation with this mod, especially when the message is so well articulated and substantiated.

      You're a saint.

No such thing as an informative game post that's too old to hold value. Messages like these were meant to help other users of Nexus mods, regardless of when they decide to try them out. Good games never really die... they just become more nostalgic as we all get older.

Warmest welcomes to both DatDirtyDawg and CrypticSiillhouett. Thanks for your kind words!

This mod crashes my game when i use it with "BethINI" *its some software that tweaks the INI settings of bethesda games and optimizes them.* I'm assuming because there's a setting to remove all borders and that like, overwrites some INI files this mod uses? or some s#*! like that. If you happen to use BethINI then i suggest downloading this mod anyway to try it and see if you have any problems with crashing just because my game crashed does not mean yours will. MIND YOU if your game is stable and your running 50+ mods and thinking "oh maybe one mod wouldn't hurt" then i would suggest you do not download it. also as a side note if you do go through downloading IWR and you use BethINI and your game crashes first delete IRW then you will have to validate your files using [Steam] just go to [Fallout New Vegas] in your [Steam library] and right-click on [Fallout New Vegas] and select [Properties] and then [Local files] and click the button [verify integrity of game files] wait for it to finish and then your good to go

ONCE AGAIN doing the fix I said to do might not work for you and you might have to completely reinstall fallout. this game has a reputation for just eating s#*! and exploding for the stupidest things *Read the text above this line* and you must keep in mind that your game may handle this mod fine with BethINI or it might explode, mine exploded. And I'm just trying to prevent that from happening to anyone else

    Happy modding!

If you're using Yukichigai Unofficial Patch (and I don't know why you wouldn't), Ignore all the recommendations in the description about using Operation Fixed Terrain. OFT was removed from the nexus but if you really wanted to you could still find it online through a fileplanet download. OFT conflicts with YUP in a few spots, for example: the road at the entrance to Primm is missing. Using Invisible Wall Remover with YUP (which fixes some bugged terrain) will do everything OFT does, as far as I could tell anyway.

Hi there, we wanted to reach out and say thank you very much for this fantastic creation. We recently reviewed it in our immersive mod series and wanted to provide a link for your own promotion and for others to learn more about what this mod accomplishes. We are grateful for all of the time and energy you have spent developing this work and we hope we do your creation justice in our video!

urgh. i recommend removal of the "Operation Fixed Terrain" mod in your description page since it's been removed.
also, what's the difference between this and the "ultimate invisible wall remover" mod?

ultimate invisible wall remover does the main mojave and all DLCs, and therefore requires all DLCs to work

I am 100% positive that it's this mod that does it, because I tried only having this mod installed and it happened.

Whenever I walk outside the newly removed wall I often see NPCs that shouldn't be there. And sometimes I see those NPCs outside those walls, moving towards them. Two NPCs that always does this is Cook-Cook and Officer James Hsu. Hsu should be at Camp McCarran, he should never leave the compound but he's automatically walking towards and past the walls when I have this mod installed. Either he survives all encounters and is somewhere outside the map or he dies trying to get there (from Raiders, Legion, Creaures etc.). Anyone know a fix?

@ma1025, it looks like your vid shows the courier sneaking along a road.
I think I've probably ran down all the roads in the game during my playthroughs and never once has my character gone all 'Marcel Marceau' on me ie. so it's probably nothing to do with invisible walls. Yep, installing OFT is a good idea as the main aim of that mod is to fixup these type of glitches that were left in the vanilla game.

BTW, if you've not already noticed: OFT v3 now contains the data from this mod. So you can reduce the number of mods in your load orders by using the OFT merged file(s). I monitor the OFT thread too and chat with AWZ often. If we have coordinates, then either of us can look into a problem to see if it's a terrain or wall issue.
