I'm doing a major overhaul on all of my mods at the moment so I'll probably release an optional updated version that will have slightly tweaked effects. What I have planned is when you first drink some java it will restore your dehydration slightly. I'm thinking maybe +45 or something like that but after it wears off you'll have a down time for about a minute or two and then your dehydration level will slowly increase at a slightly higher rate so when you drink it you won't be thirsty but an in-game hour or so later you'll start to dehydrate faster.
I guess your major overhaul was not completed, since two years ago, hope you are not dead or something. Also, false, coffee doesn't make you thirstier, if anything, it keeps you re hydrated for a few hours because is basically a tea, a very strong tea, but you drink all that water. So I don't think that you should dehydrate faster. Other than that, this Mod is amazing and one of my favorites, can't go anywhere without a sweet shot of espresso. Thank you for your mod. I have a request, since you created this mod, could you make one that adds recipes for making energy drinks to the game, like RedBull or Monster or Boost, you know something that drains your sleep and give you a plus to Perception and/or Endurance. No, I know what + H2O looks like it adds water to the body, but acts different. and yes, it really made me Oo when I saw it first time in game =P And it is bad what I can remove dehydration only by water bottles (don't count pipes and some fruits - I can't find them in enough quantity). I spent about 3/4 of all my caps on water. And I'd like to spent my priceless water on something what gives you water too.
But if go back to reality.. My opinion is based on the fact what right after drinking a cup of coffee you wouldn't drink a bottle of water. may be later. but not right after. I can drink some mineral water after a bottle of beer, vodka, vine and etc. I'm from Russia, I know what I'm talking about =)) lol. Really I'm not drinking that much. So back to coffee. Sure, it dehydrates you, but not as alcohol. Coffee dehydration in my opinion much slower. So may be coffee should have over time H2O effect like it was made with health, something like +0.01 every minute in duration of a hour or 2. In this case I don't need to drink water right after and coffee still dehydrates me.
This is a great idea, downloading now. Maybe you could even just rename the nuts into coffee bean and forget about the tabacco all together.
Perhaps you could also make like Vault Coffee that requires a tin of ground vault-tec beans or Caravan Cofee that requires some crazy stuff like venom glands and rifle powder.

The problem is, + H2O looks like it adds water to the body, therefore your dehydration decreases. Thing is, it means that your H2O Dehydration increases, so you need more to drink.
Just a misunderstanding and a poor naming choice from Bethesda.
@x31: It increases your dehydration level meaning you'll need to drink water. This is because, in real life, Caffeine is both a stimulant and a diuretic. Meaning it increases your heart rate and causes you to use urinate more frequently until the effects of the drug wear off. So overall, you'll be more dehydrated after drinking coffee or other caffeinated beverages because you're accelerated heart rate will cause you to sweat more and your frequent or increased urination will cause you to lose more water. @hownice: Huh, must've missed your comment somehow. Yes, the Pinyon nuts are somewhat of a rarity but they do have a chance to appear as loot in refrigerators and some other food containers. I've been able to counter-act this oversight by creating a bashed patch with Wrye Flash and setting all loot containers to respawn after 1 day. It's kind of cheating but not really. but why it have H2O+? I think coffee should remove this, not add. When I suffer from thirst I drink coffee and don't want to drink a water after. so it should remove some H2O at same amount as it adds atm.
Figures. Probably the latest version too. Meh. I'll just dig out my Max4 disk after I get everything moved. At least the .nif tools Dave Humphreys released for that version work no matter what. I can just port over all my works into that and export them as .nif files with one click.
