It can be done with this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/43894?tab=description

I recommend downloading the first file (the one uploaded 19 Sep 2011), as its textures look the best to me. Unfortunately there's more to it than just plug and play- Ajax's mod removes and replaces the bikes so that it can have multiple variants. As such it doesn't actually replace the motorcycle01.nif file, so if you just install it and run the game all the bikes BUT the drivable one will be replaced. He does have an optional file that replaces the regular motorcycle model but it has some sort of bug that makes it look plastic and terrible-- trust me, go with the first file. Here's how to make it work-

      1) download and install Motorcycle Replacer with Mod Organizer 2 (if you're not using MO2 see below)
      2) right click on Motorcycle Replacer in your modlist (NOT the esp list, the big list) and scroll down to 'Open in Explorer'
      3) COPY (don't cut!) one of the models from either the meshes/vehicles/Choppa folder or the meshes/vehicles/Kalassic folder. Choppa/motorcyclekCold.nif is the regular chopper, Choppa/motorcyclekColdTravlers.nif is the one with saddlebags (I think this one looks best with the functionality of Ghostdancer's mod) and Kalassic/motorcyclekOLD.nif is the non-chopper version. Pick one and ctrl-C it.
      4) go up a level to the meshes/vehicles folder and Ctrl-V paste a copy of your chosen bike, rename this copy motorcycle01.nif
5-OPTIONAL) at this point you are basically done. if you don't actually care about having multiple styles of bikes in the world, or want to save on .esps, etc, you can now disable Motorcycle Replacer_Beta_V2.esp if you like or just full on delete it. If you do every bike in the game will look like the one you chose.

If you don't use Mod Organizer the methods are essentially the same, you just have to get into the folder where your organizer stores all the mods, wherever that is. There should be a button to open that folder at the very least somewhere on it. Or, if you're installing manually, do all these things in the Data folder (and may Thor have mercy on your soul!)

Very good mod, but I think it's missing at least one travel point, it's Cottonwood Cove. Especially if you chose to be with the Legion.

I like the idea, but I can't use this mod cause if I like the idea of random encounters, once I discovered Freeside in New Vegas, all my travel will resume in encounters at New Vegas, even if I travel from Goodspings to Mojave Outpost/Novac.
And as I'm unable to not have an encounter each time I try to travel, even after the first encounter, I'm stuck in New Vegas area.

Long shot, but any chance for a Map Marker version with fuel usage and nothing else?

Cool mod, but needs more locations to really be usable without fast travel. I'd suggest Primm, Nellis, The Strip, Hidden Valley, Cottonwood Cove, faction safehouses, Camp McCarran etc and maybe a few custom ones for mod homes and whatnot.

Finally, a fast travel mod that works with DUST. The others i've found all require you to interact with NPCs and with the DUST mod, the NPC's are dead and the ones that still alive are hostile.

With this, I have a place to store my items and have a way to semi fast travel to a part of the map I want to go to.

It's 'slightly' made DUST easier although still kinda realistic with the Advanced Version but still DUST is hell on New Vegas.

Can't use any of the vehicle mods (as the engine didn't really have vehicle coding from the beginning) because of the severe bugs associated with them (if not crashing, then there will be weird animation involving walking with motorcycles), also the XRE cars mod requires restart after initialization which i found it annoying (i prefer my mod up and running as soon as i woke up or getting out of the Goodsprings Clinic)

So yeah this mod is the only perfect solution for how vehicle travels handled not to mention it's more realistic for player who didn't prefer fast travel.

This is a great mod! It's the closest thing I could find to the FWE Alternate Travel motorcycle. You could use that as a blueprint for future updates. I'd like to be able to use the map to travel (or at least have more towns added, such as Primm).
