Yeah, I have to go against the grain here and say that this mod simply isn't very good. The main "moral dilemma" feels so contrived. Either help them all live happily ever after or merciless slaughter? That is not moral complexity. This kind of simplicity doesn't belong in Fallout.
The dialogue, as written, is stilted and uninteresting. The problem is confounded by the terrible voice-acting that just puts me to sleep.
While I understand that this took a lot of effort, a lot MORE effort was needed outside the programming and building of the mod itself. Dialogue, characters and writing overall need to be vastly improved before it could be considered a good story with actual moral complexity.
Well this mod reminds me sort of on the quest from fallout 3 "Our Little Secret" from Andale. And there is it that either you kill them all ( the parents) or let them live happily ever after. And In the other fallout games there are moral complexity quests there you have 2 options , kill or let them live happliy ever after.
or the quest in Goodsprings. Either you fight with them for their town against the Powder Gang or you go with the Powder Gang and kill almost the whole town.
So never tell us that sucha quest never belongs in fallout. They excists in fallout ( even without mods).
I'm gonna have to agree here, and add that the quests are... bad. The ghoul tissue sample quest for example is just one annoyance after another. I mean I hunt down ramdom ghouls all over The Devil's Throat, give 'em the things, wait 24 hours and then what?
"Go hunt more but this time a glowing one"
Who thought this was fun? Specially since any sort of outside damage that isn't me will make the tissue sample not spawn, which led me to wandering all over REPCONN looking for that one ghoul that would bloody spawn it.
I like the mod, that is, like it. The mod is called DecisionS with RegretS not collection quests with one decision and a little inconvenience. I think that adding more decisions, with bigger impacts would greatly increase the appeal. Such as opening the medical samples wouldn't force you to get more ghoul skin, but cause adverse effects on Don, after all who knows the difference between spoiled ghoul samples and non-spoiled. Besides the fact that the only thing that could contaminate it is wasteland radiation or air, which all ghouls deal with. I mean why are the samples I get from fresh ghouls better than those in a zip locked bag? I also think that there should have been repercussions for Howard deactivating the Securatron. He made the facility greatly insecure and could have cost the entire place their lives. That's something that would be unforgivable in a place like this. The NCR shows more tolerance for ghouls, as well, allowing them in their settlements and to do trade, own businesses. Why all of a sudden do they want to cause mass genocide? Using the MK2 darts still kills the ghouls. Not killing the ghouls in the first place makes no sense as we're taking them from ferals and the theory they have is that ferals would still be insane but easier to kill if they were human. Crosby though meaning well lies about her contact Jack and shows no signs of remorse that someone she knew was murdered. Why lie? And if she had some ulterior motive, why show no emotion when he dies? Instead of testing on a sane ghoul, wouldn't it make more sense to work on the MK2 darts more and make them functional so you could test the serum on a docile ghoul who has already lost their mind? Don dying greatly troubled me, here I was putting work into finding a cure and he just falls flat on the floor dead with no explanation as to why or how or if they can fix it. Now this is a lot of criticism but I'm only spending so much time on pointing out the flaws because I know this has such great potential to be a heart wrenching drama and not just a duel that ruins your reputation. I'm sorry if so far in the review it sounds harsh, now I will point out the things that are great so far. Environment. Everything blends so perfectly it feels like the research lab came with the game, the entire time you're walking around the area you see so much that has to do with the story. In the distance, you see a once thriving area now ruined with radiation and the survivors plagued with a disease that you're working to cure. Closer to the facility you have a homestead, perhaps one like that of the Doctor that was destroyed by survivors driven mad by guilt and sickness. Even further on the edge of the horizon you see a menace that spread this curse to more, the camp of the legion. Characters. Though brief, you build great connections with the characters you meet in the conversations with them. From the Colo"fornian" who lost her boyfriend to the legion and is being forced into a dark deed, to the technology expert weary of robots due to his past with the strip. From a brooding scientist looking for vengeance, to a tolerant doctor hoping to help. A man tasked with protection scared of what might be looming, scared that his firepower won't be enough, ultimately forced to fire the only other person there skilled with a gun and losing a piece of prewar machinery more than capable of fending off attackers. A cold researcher who doesn't care of the previous courier, only the package and the contents within. A man blessed with immortality and cursed with seclusion. Truly the dialogue and connections are masterfully made. At the moment this would rate a 6/10 with me on the choice options, but a 10/10 on story telling.
I think this is a small nice QuestMod. Would like if the story could go on and they would actually be able to figure a way out. Also thank you for the organization of the files. It annoys me everytime if I have to delete every microdata after finishing a questmod
After I deliver the ghoul guy to the doctor, he does the thing to him then the ghoul collapses dead. Human again, but dead. The doctor and the female one both just say things about how they have to keep trying, but I can't speak to them. Any idea what's wrong here? Also how do I remove the Dart Gun from my inventory? It's an extra 0.75 weight I won't need. Oh and after I think completing all the old woman's quests it seems that talking to her just makes my character disappear.
I just played it through. I liked doing it the one time. Many mods I play again and again and again. This one didn't feel finished to me and for me didn't have that replayability factor. The ending did not feel like an ending to me. It was not a cliff-hanger. It just stopped. I have played the first parts of it before. This is the first time I played the entire thing. Now I'm going to go try your other mods.

This is bullshit, criticism is valid regardless of ones own skill in the given field.

But has there been a new poster?
