Doubt i'l ever get an answer, but does the climbing equipment even exist or was the mod abandoned before it was finished? I've been to every location and been looking at every nook and cranny to find the equipment to no avail...
I know im about a year late but if I remember correctly from when I played this mod half a decade ago, the mountain climbing equipment is located at the basement of a burnt house behind the Orion Settlement. Its a little hard to find and most players would probably never encounter this interior as at is very secluded. The basement has a hard lock and rigged with explosives when entered.
Not lore compliant: there should not be so many hostiles within actual NCR territory. No narrative or cohesion: just random dungeons scattered about. Don't use it.
this mod page is dead but i am trying to resurrect the mod but its just me so i need a team assembled [x] proof reader (befo) [] assistant level devs [] voice actors [] unique clothing/ hair designers [] script writers me = supervisor/template dev
Happy to see someone is gonna start working on this again. this mod is amazing and so much fun. so much potential.... Goodluck and cant wait to see the progress.
You have permission from thelonewarrior, I'm assuming.
Something you can start with right off the bat, is to create a compatibility patch with Lonesome Road. One of the ending choices (nuke NCR) creates a new area which uses the same gate at the Mojave Outpost as a means of access, rendering the BtB areas inaccessible. It's annoying, because it means that I can't use this mod on my main save.
I'm sure I'm not the only one with this issue.
I don't have any real skills, but my obsessive attention to detail could probably be of use; I could test for you, and document bugs and issues that I run across, if you'd like.
I might be able to put together some simple unique scripted weapons or armor items as well, I suppose, although I wouldn't be able to model them (texture, maybe).
You can see the mod authors response in the comment section to somebody trying to revive the mod several years ago, so im pretty sure he doesnt care what happens to the mod. You're free to work on it.
place seems to be a bit less number of people than it used to be, and you dont get any quests from the military base now either, they mention the fiend lab but dont give you the quest to destroy it now, all you get is we dont have any work for civilians..its a shame was a good mod, hope someone takes it up again
Mod author probably realized at some point that map is only so big, only way you can build past a certain point is to make really tall mountains as a barrier wall and a door to another worldspace
A cool mod, but screws up a lot of the base game sometimes. A big issue I had was that the named NCR in McCarran would always spawn in the middle of the desert and get slaughtered by the hostile NPCs in this mod. Otherwise, I found the SCP area and the asylum to be loads of fun. The town overran with mutant spiders was a nice touch.
This mod, while a great idea, is only half done in terms of development and testing. Some areas are better than others, but most are pretty basic. Perhaps the best (IMO) area was the insane asylum. However, that introduces a graphical bug that makes everything dramatically darker and monotone after you play through that area. It made playing Dead Money nearly unplayable. I spent hours unloading every mod that could potentially have had a conflict and re-adding them one by one to discover that this mod was the problem. My guess, a vanilla script was edited so that when that same script was used in Dead Money it screwed everything up. (See vanilla npc fix mod, too.)
I like this... disappointing that it was abandoned. There's a lot of floating roads, rocks and plants relatively near the entry area, but it's a fantastic landscape that I love exploring even if I don't find any story content.
