Seems to work as advertised, nothing more, nothing less. A mod to my liking. Kudos to the author for creating and sharing it.
I'm playing GOTY 1.6.1820 from GOG. Vanilla engine (no MCP, etc), just dropped the download into the data folder and activated it from the Data Files option in the launcher.
yeap still working , i have goty edition and mgso3.0+ mgso-patch allso, font and widescreen24" and this help to lvl all magic up while playing like in oblivion same slow mana regenration
I'm having a problem with this. When I launch the game, it gives me an unrecognised form error, and doesn't seem to do anything. (If my Magika is indeed regenerating, it's so slow I can't even notice it). I tried examining the mod in the CS, but I don't really know what I'm doing with Morrowind (My modding experience is all with the TESIV engine). Strangely, I'm pretty sure my other computer has this on it, and it works. Maybe v1.1 broke something, or maybe the trouble is on my end (although with such a simple mod, and a clean install, I don't consider that too likely). Anyway, if anyone knows what my problem is that would be great.
In the process of writing a guide on Magicka regeneration mods, I examined this mod in an editor (MWEdit) and came up with the conclusion that this is a very simple, elegant and lightweight (*the* most lightweight of them, I believe, off the top of my head) Magicka regeneration mod that is simple and effective, with no frills and no nonsense. One down side for some is that it does not check for Atronach characters, and therefore will be very imbalancing in their favor (eliminating the one disadvantage that justifies that huge boost in max Magicka). Further information can be found in my guide hosted at MW Mythic Mods. No link yet, but look for Gluby's Comprehensive guide on magic and spell effect mods. The system won't let me endorse it yet, but I do endorse it as a good and valid mod alternative for Magicka regeneration in Morrowind.
Lore says that Magicka is actually generated by the constant moving and shifting, the flow of daedrons (daedric aetheric creatures - the ones you materialise as weapons or armor via conjuration spells) through Oblivion.
The actual person only has a limited spiritual reservoir for containing the residual energy generated by this flow.
Why is Magicka supposed to regenerate during sleep ? Heck if I know !! Maybe Bethesda borrowed from the eastern phylosophies that the spirit is more bound to the body during the active period and more free and susceptible to external energies and changes during sleep.
However, since these flows are constant through Oblivion, the debate remains open : is ones Magicka (mana, chi, ki, whatever) supposed ro regenerate constantly or only during certain periodes ?
I, for one (flows being constant) see no logical reason why a person's Magicka shouldn't continuously regenerate.
No, in Morrowind Magicka is not a characteristic of the human energetical body like Ki in real life. Once again, it is generated by Oblivion spirits.
Wich makes me wonder, what's the point with the Atronach Sign's "stunted magicka"? I suppose they simply put it there to counterbalance the heavy 50% spell absorbtion capacity.
What I have to note is that I found a very interesting mod on this very site (the file itself, as it is on my hard drive now, is called "Regional_Mana-5554.rar") wich makes Magicka regenerate faster or slower depending on the certain area of the map where you are located. A very nice resemblance with the power grids and nodes of Earth (spiritually inclined people will know what I'm talking about, the rest might check out something like, let's say.... http://www.world-mysteries.com/sci_gridlines.htm )

Smiles !
Post Scriptum : yeah, making a fantasy game more realistic :-) !
Thanks Giu1 for this mod... Since playing Oblivion, my magic reserves in Morrowind have been vexing me greatly. This should make it slightly more bearable for me.
