Better Expansion Implementations was removed from the patch and can now be found on the Expansion Delay page.

It is not. The current patch version has a minor problem: Galbedir keeps staring at the wall when she returns to her original position (which has been fixed for the upcoming version). The problem in the linked video seems to me to be something else.

It seems that OpenMW is not handling the AiTravel reset in my script edit properly. I did not encounter this issue in the vanilla engine. I can easily fix it on my end by introducing an additional stage though.

Should anyone with an OpenMW setup want to test the new script, it is available for download at this link.

Hi half11, I'm the one who discovered the issue on OpenMW. I just tried your script fix you linked here and I can confirm that it perfectly fixed the problem. Thank you :)

PS: I don't know what went wrong in the OpenMW side.

Thanks for testing and for bringing this to my attention. I don't know if there is necessarily anything wrong with OpenMW in this regard. It should mimic the vanilla engine's behavior, but the script edit I wrote was pretty wonky in this case.

Will v5.0.0. release any time soonish, or can I safely start a virgin start with v4.0.2 now?

Unfortunately, it creates a glitch in which your character gets a weird gray sphere as a head (if I remember correctly). It was impossible to become both a werewolf and a vampire through the usual methods. The only way to make this happen was by using Hircine's Ring as a vampire, which results in the above glitch. However, Bethesda has clarified that this was not intended and is considered a bug.

Hello,I would like to use the patch, but for the German version of Morrowind, i.e. if I use Yampt to translate, will the patch work without any problems with the German version? or could there be problems later with quests or scripts?

Good question. I honestly don't know. I'm not familiar with this translation tool. I expect it will still take some work because you don't necessarily want a 1:1 patch translation but convey the bug fixes while keeping the original German dialogue and topics instead of a direct translation from English. I suppose many text fixes have been fixed in the original translation.

Thank you for this mod half11! I will list some things I think you should fix in the next patch:
    - Mages guild: Huleen's hut: permantently on the journal if you are not a member of the mages guild  (you can hear rumors in Maar Gan and pry there accidentaly)
    - Fighters guild: Vandacia's Bounty: If you choose the "path of honor" (Percius Mercius side) in the fighters guild, even if you kill  Lorbumol, this quest still on your journal. (you avoid this quest if you heed Mercius)
    - I vote for Cinia Urtius to be restored on the game (popular opinion)
    - I didn't try Umbra and Ice Blade of the Monarch quests with your mod (the last one if you are not a member of the Imperial Cult and you take that blade). The last time i did those quests were still on my journal, Umbra even if I completed it.
(unpopular opinion) Can you make the premade class Crusader with willpower instead of Agility on semipurist please??? :D I know it's not a bug per se but Crusader was intented to favor Strength and Willpower (it has sence since Archer covers Strength and Agility and Strength/Willpower attributes fit Crusader roleplaying perfectly) as it is in Oblivion. Probably those who programmed this part missed it and didn't realize it

Thank you again! (I'm not an english speaker if some sentences are not understood)

Thanks for the feedback. Believe it or not, pretty much all of these things are being taken care of.

Giving Vandacia's Bounty quest an appropriate ending (for the scenario where you follow Percius Mercius' advice) is the only thing I have to think about how to implement because existing dialogue and journal entries are non-existent for this scenario. It is probably enough to give the player a dialogue choice about whether or not to complete the task and give Lorbumol gro-Aglakh an appropriate response with a corresponding journal entry.

Works perfectly on new save files, but on old (we're talking last played 2014) save file, having this enabled will bug out my character upon save/reload, causing her to respawn in a blank skybox (or sometimes, I'll respawn in Red Mountain randomly) with no journal information available.  I can teleport to a correct value via console commands, and I can re-add journal/quest entries manually, but disabling this mod alone allowed me to continue that save file with zero issues.

To be completely clear, I'm not expecting "a fix" for this, as I'm sure it was a save incompatibility from a mod I probably installed back in 2012 or whatever, just as a heads up in case anyone else deals with this same issue.  Fantastic mod otherwise!  Just may not play nice with really old save files.

This patch is incompatible with old saves. I tried to communicate this in the note in the installation instructions:
Note: I strongly advise against updating (or switching) patches halfway through. Patches touch too many things, and changing them leads to weird problems. My advice is to continue playing your save on the older patch and update the moment you start a new playthrough.
This applies to many mods, especially mods that modify dialogue or rely on cell edits.

Oh yeah, I saw it after puttering around for a good few minutes. It probably pays to read installation instructions before installing things lol

I added this comment purely for anyone else that, in the future, may be trying to figure out what's going on with these exact same issues.  A fantastic mod, though!  Really does help quality of life :D

Is Cinia Urtius restored in this mod, given Morrowind Patch Project is no longer available?

Also, seems the issue with Ebony Shortsword (at Odai Plateau) being stuck underground is not addressed.

Cinia Urtius will be restored in the upcoming version due to popular demand.

I didn't touch the Ebony Shortsword, which appeared to have been placed there by mistake. It's tough to locate without prior knowledge and console commands, as it can only be obtained by looking at a particular spot on the ground. However, players who still wish to use the weapon can access it. Nonetheless, placing such a powerful weapon above ground in an easily accessible location in the middle of the wilderness is not ideal from a gameplay perspective and seems nonsensical. For those reasons, I left it as it is.

It seems in vanilla, if https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:The_Bad_Actor is started via the rumor topic, the topic to start the quest at the NPC is *removed*. Easily rectified via the console and adding the topic. Hopefully fixed in a future update though.

Nah, barely an inconvenience. I was just making sure to report it. Glad to hear you're still working on PfP though and that it's been fixed! I'm playing Morrowind for the first time and it's a lot of fun. I'd imagine less so without mods like PfP. Thank you very much!

howdy all, apologies if this has been brought up before (if so, let me know and I'll delete my comment :) ) but is anyone else having problems with a crash in the "Girith's Stolen Hides" quest? specifically, I can defeat one of the two guilty ashlanders with no problem, but approaching the second ashlander afterwards causes a CTD every time I've tried. I've played Morrowind before with a previous version of PFP and don't remember this problem happening, but I'm also pretty sure I don't have any other mods which affect this quest!

quick edit to add: it didn't matter which of the two are defeated first, it happened regardless of which order I fought them in!

Thanks for the report. According to the documentation, the current patch does not touch this quest. I will take a look at it soon.

oh! my apologies, I thought it did! when I looked at the documentation, it says that it fixes a dialogue topic appearing incorrectly (the "bastard Ashlanders" one), but I thought the way Morrowind quests worked in the Construction Set was that changing a dialogue topic DID touch the quest in some way!

Well if you do find out some sort of fix or something, that would be great of course haha, but if it isn't a problem with PFP then no worries! either way, thanks for the reply! :)

You're right; the old documentation does indeed talk about this topic. It is just a dialogue filter though, not something that should crash your game.

The quest does not appear to use anything like a script that could cause a crash. When exactly does the crash take place? When you talk to them? Attacking them?

it happens after I've attacked & successfully defeated the 1st Ashlander, then as I approach the 2nd one, the crash happens whenever I get near him. And the crash happened regardless of which of the two I attacked first, Kashtes or Emul-Ran, and I tested it several times each! Talking with them didn't seem to have any issues, and they aggro'd like normal too. And I tried using console commands to give myself the 10 Guar Hides, and I could give them back to Girith and get the reward later in Tel Mora without any issues.

I looked in the Construction Set, and I saw that Kashtes and Emul-Ran "use" each other in some way, but I can't figure out HOW they use each other. This makes me wonder, could this crash somehow be happening because I use the 'dispose' option when looting? I've never had issues with the 'dispose' option during a quest before, but admittedly I also don't know how it works (and I guess quest-related NPCs usually can't be disposed of, lol)

I tried to replicate the problem but to no avail. However, I do think I know the possible culprit. The thieves both trigger each other's attacks on the player through a script in the dialogue Result box (e.g. "Kashtes Ilabael"->StartCombat Player). This could be the cause, but it is not a problem in the vanilla engine (using the Code Patch).

Are you using OpenMW or a MWSE-lua mod that could interfere with this?

ohh that's how they "use" each other? Makes sense why I couldn't find it then haha, I always forget scripts can be in that dialogue box! I don't use OpenMW, I do have MGEXE but never ran MWSE update since I don't use any MWSE mods and figured it wasn't necessary?

I'll try to replicate it on my end again later today, and take another look through my load order to double check and see I didn't miss anything that could be causing this bug - thanks for all your help so far! :)

I recommend running MWSE-Update; even if you don't use specific mods for this, it provides more stability.

I ran MWSE-update, made sure it installed correctly, tried the quest again and this time it worked with no issue! I didn't know MWSE helped with game stability but evidently it was just the stability my game needed lol! Thanks so very much for your help with this even though it ended up not being related to PFP haha, you are a great member of the modding community! :)))
