April 11,2016 I am making all females blue tonight so at least this will be complete. I'm sorry I didn't do this earlier.
The mod will also be updated with an optional folder that will make the females Golden. That is what I am working on this week so the mod is not dead, I just got side tracked with my palettes. Blame the ADD XDDD
This mod is gorgeous for argonians, would love to see it complete someday! It would really revive argonians in morrowind as a race. Please come back! <3 :C
This mod looks really cool, Psijonica! Although, " This is a replacer mod so now all the male Argonians in the game are blue." I also saw you stated you were planning to make it a whole new race, and not a retexture, so it would work along with Wey's work. Does that mean it no longer makes all the argonian NPC's blue?
Yes, there will be that option. In fact I am waiting for permission to use a script where the Argonian will have gills that you can open and close by way of spell that costs nothing to cast. That way you can swim underwater like in Oblivion but you can also close your gills and drown if you want. There is a major quest that you have to drown in order to complete it which is why you can't make it a passive power like in Oblivion where you can breath underwater all the time.
So yes, in a few days this mod will be updated and over time it will continue to be updated.
The next update will make the females completely blue too. The next update after that will make the females golden. And the final update will make them a separate race. I won't reveal anything else but they will be made following all known Argonian lore which I have already studied. There are many different types of Argonians similar to like Khajitts. We are only seeing one kind of Argonian in the games but there are frog like Argonians and translucent white ghost like Argonians and even flying Argonians.
There will also be new options that will keep the horns the original colour but the fins will remain blue.
The update will come in a few days. I have been busy making palettes but that is finished now. Once you see the Blue Argonians in game you will never want to go back to the regular ones. They are just too much fun
That's actually really good! I don't think that there is anything in the lore, that says Argonians can't be blue since they change the colours in each game. I would love to actually see Argonians of different colours spread throughout the game: black, blue, dark green, red, etc. Nice work!
Wey's Argonians does change the colour of all the heads but the bodies all use the same dark olive colour. I am using his meshes and textures but I have recoloured them with some advanced features in GIMP. Right now I am turning this into a RACE MOD so that both mods can be used at the same time.
The female Golden Argonian is being made with Photoshop and I will be experimenting with some lighting effects and bumpmapping.
As far as lore goes, Argonians were a blue and grey coloured race in the early games although I am creating my own little lore for them. It is all mythical and unconfirmed of course but it is said their blue scales are a result from licking too much Hist Sap as a young hatchling
As a reptile enthusiast in real life and in game, anything that makes Argonians not look like stock colored reptiles is a win. Too often game designers aim for green and it's many varieties, but one thing that I liked about Wey is the fact they're brownish, much like a Komodo dragon; which by the way is terrifying in real life and even more so if it were 6-7 feet tall and bipedal. Reptiles come in a wide assortment of prismatic colors and seeing a blue Argonian... well, now I know what my next thief character is going to look like. Good job, Psi!
Through some long hours of research *yawn* it has been confirmed that Argonians do come in many colours and shapes. There are frog like Argonians, winged Argonians and even very pale ghost-like argonians. Some honour Sithis and others are Necromancers but the one thing they all have in common is the Hist. So if I happened to create a winged blue Argonian Hist Sap licking mystic warlock it would all be based on TES lore
