This is awesome. This is the mod where you ride that really long train to get to the Dwemer Cyborg Facility, right? Man, I remember playing that years ago. This is a nice improvement and color shift over the originals. And I'm glad you didn't use Better Bodies or something as they'd be too smooth. Even so, I think it'd be interesting to modify the meshes further to make them more skeletal in the forearms and calves perhaps.

well i would if i could get a 3d program working and playing nice with nifs in linux. but since i dont, i kind of have to mess around with textures until they just kind of fall in place on the model. i sure wish i could do the unwrap myself though, but making the models from scratch would be ideal.

note: this is dependent on the original mod, either 1.1 or 2.0 (i think thats what they are called) but you can find the old one here and the newer version at house fliggerty.

i may actually get the opportunity to go ahead and do something like that, but i will try later, since remodeling those wil actually mean redoing the textures. once the models are altered, the old unwrap will no longer work, or things will begin to stretch in funny ways, so that is kind of on the back burner of things for now til i get a lot of other stuff done. my list of models keeps growing, and i have not even finished the dwemer armor replacer mod i am working on. i finished the models, but the textures are on hold til i am sure i have as much of the dwemer stuff modeled as i can get done so i can maintain consistency between the textures and colors. i made the mistake of doing a lot of work before on the centurions and other stuff without making sure they have the same coloration and now i have to do a lot of them over.

It'd be awesome if ever done. But yeah, definitely not a light undertaking.
I'm looking forward to seeing what else you're working on!

if you look at this thread, it shows the progression of the textures, and the evolution of it into now mainly a mesh replacer that needs textures as well, so the name of the thread is a bit misleading, but it grows into models of the armor, and now to just about everything dwemer.

Dang! You're going nuts with the Dwemer meshes! Really impressive stuff - and I liked how the armor was turning out. Did you finish it before moving on to architecture? I don't usually check the Nexus forums, but I'll be following that one for sure!

not yet, i did unwrap the helm and do a rough texture on it, i have unwrapped all the armor, and made a template for each part, but nothing is textured yet. i did the helm mainly to get face placement on it done right, and iron out the import export issues and nifskope issues first. but like i said for consistency i dont want to start doing textures yet til im focusing on those, so anything sharing similar metal tones will need to be done all at once. like the centurions, the ballista, armor, the steam stack, any gyros and things from tribunal that would share the same tone. so those really need to be finished before i complete the armor for release.

"It may aslo work with Sobitol but i am not sure if the two use the same folder for textures. In my personal game files they both do."

I think you mean Sobitur (Sobitol is from the Cyborgs mod, I made Sobitur and fully incorporated the last version of Cyborgs into it)

and yes, this texture replacer will work with Sobitur as well, the file paths are the same for the cyborgs, just install this last and all should be well!

ok, since you incorporated the last version, which is 2. something, does that mean i can run yours and still experience the sobitol cyborgs mod as well, and you have both sobitur and sobitol combined in your mod?

i remember reading somewhere that trying to run your mod was incompatible with save games from the 2.0 version but the 1.1 save games would not conflict with your mod. im not sure exactly how that works but i want to know what to expect.

oh, btw, i just realized. im doing what i will call a legacy retexture of the dwemer vanilla armor, which you use a lot of different colored versions of in your mod, and once i release that you may want to use that as the base texture for your dwemer armor based npcs. but i might have to dig into the mod and see what ican whip up eventually.

here is a preview of just the helm and shield. its a WIP
