I'm getting an error from mge when i go through the distant land config.
It says "Non-Fatal error in parse files for cells (your mods name) Unable to read beyond the end of stream" The grass doesn't show up at all in game because of this.
I can generate grass from older rebirth grass versions or the ones that came with mgso for vanilla but not this for some reason.
Any idea what could be causing this? Would love to play the new Morrowind rebirth, I've been stuck playing 2.61 because that was the last version with a grass mod.
I also get the same error while generating distant land. i use now older grass for rebirth mod and ignore floating grass parts :-/ some one have a idea how to fix the "Unable to read beyond the end of stream" problem? thx TESCS gives error about Grass/Vurt_AshVeg_GreenGrass.nif. also tried installing all textures and meshes from other vurt - tree(only?) mods.
No idea if this will work but have you tried opening this plugin in the TES:CS and re-saving it? That error seems to indicate something screwy in the CELL records. Re-saving may fix things (but the CS could also bork at reading the plugin...) As you're only going to be generating grass for MGE (or MGE XE) with this you won't need to worry about GMSTs and other such
Hey, thanks for the help! I'll have a look. Opening it in the CS shows a bunch of errors:
-The file paths for some of the grass meshes are longer than 32 characters, so they get truncated (since those are from Vurt's mods, which work, I assume that's not actually an issue)
-"Second ReadFile() in GetChunkData failed with error: Process successfully completed/terminated" (or something to that effect, the last part of the error message is in German because my OS is.)
-"Need to add string for FORM_ID ".
-"Chunk (null) abnormally terminated LoadReference Reference "GRS_WG_Scrub Plain0" in Load for cell 'West Gash Region'."
Possibly some more, but then the Tribunal dialogue messages start, so I have to click "yes to all".
Saving it again in the CS with the base game master files and Rebirth loaded doesn't restore the grass, unfortunately :/
Oh ya, and the file size for distant land objects in MGE XE is the same before and after, so it's not generating any grass meshes anywhere.
There really was an error "Need to add string for FORM_ID "? So, maybe in Morrowind ObjectIDs really were called Form IDs, and were then exposed in the Oblivion CS. Interesting. Unless that was the Oblivion CS / Skyrim CK you were using :)
Ah well, I'm not too concerned about the grass really, maybe the author will get around to fixing it eventually. I'm running a mostly-vanilla graphics setup right now anyway, to keep myself from messing with texture and model replacers all day instead of actually playing the damn game XD
Wow this is a lot of dicussion. That is what i get when my laptop dies and I go into real life mode for a while. This is strange. The form Id happens when I load Morrowind Rebrith in genera along with a handful of other issues. I had gone through after making this and added a number of other village and tweaks to MR so I stopped using this file shortly after making it. I can look into this but not sure as to the best place to start looking for a true solution. Sorry to everyone for the issues here. If I find something I will let you all know. If anyone else should find something let me know.
Rebirth just updated to 3.3, but looks like there were no exterior changes. Perhaps this mod would remain compatible? If it doesn't, I'm cool with sticking with 3.2. I love the grass way too much.
The no grass thing was something that nearly turned me away from MR. But after seeing the city expansions I was to tempted to work something out, glad you are not able to find issues. keep me posted.

use this one instead if you really want grass.

You will have some floating grass but its negligible and at least that version works with 3.8/3.81.

I'll report back if I find anything out of place. Thanks again!
