I cannot guarantee this mod to work with saved games that have progressed (quests being finished, interacted with NPCs, etc) It is best to always play this mod or any mod with a new save.
I don't understand how to actually use this mod :(.
I have targeted Ahnassi for marriage with a male PC. I have completed the entirety of the Ahnassi, a Special Friend quest, have acquired an Amulet of Mara (and have tried it equipped/unequipped) when talking with Ahnassi.
I have tried setting Ahnassi, a Special Friend to entry 95 via console command to verify that it is indeed a Completed Quest. It doesn't show up as "Active" in my Journal.
I've completed this quest, from start to finish, AFTER I installed the mod. I can verify that the Amulet of Mara does indeed show up and can be purchased from the oracle at Ebonheart and I have done so.
I have no options in her dialogue to even suggest marriage of any kind.
I have gone to Balmora to speak with the priests at the temple, who do not sell any item called "Engagement Ring".
What am I supposed to be doing? I am following the Requirements described in the .xlsx file and the mod description, any help would be greatly appreciated.
I read the modding guide, and as a complete and utter novice I have a question:
Is adding additional marriage candidates something I can do with console commands or do I have to add the script to the NPC in morrowind.esm (via the Construction Set)?
I don't have the ID, but if you progress in the Imperial Cult and speak to the head priest in Ebonheart they will sell you one when you ask about marriage. Not sure if joining the cult is required, but its how I found it.
For the life of me, i cannot figure out how to get it to find the local variable. getting syntax error on line 1. followed your instructions and does not seem to be working out for me.
Thank you for the mod! Works great, and I was able to buy an Amulet of Mara in Ebonheart and get married there, however the priests in Balmora don't have the marriage topic.
Does that work with mods adding NPCs, such as Tamriel Rebuilt? Not gonna lie, vanilla NPCs are just okayish, but in TR I found a character I would like to marry, but not sure if this is compatibile, yet if I can add it mid-play. Would love if I could do it, though.
You need to add a response in the topics for when your NPC is getting engaged and when the wedding is over and you move into the NPCs home. You can look at the examples in the topic for other NPCs in the Marriage.esm to see how it is done.
Nice, but there should be a chance that your spouse is killable while travelling with you. Accepting and dealing with loss helps one recover and adds something to remember your story by, building character in more ways than one.
Please include an option that your spouse can die.
